You got excited over the birds of paradise, but i have 2 that ive been trying to grow in my back yard. Unfortunately it gets too cold in the winter for them where i live so as soon as they start growing its winter time and they die back down to the "root", and have to wait for summer before they can start trying to grow again.Also growing up going to the beach all the time i never really considered california's waves to be that big. Granted there are spots that can get really big, but i think it averages out about 3-6 ft… or at least the places ive been too. Its neat to see someone that is not used to something notice the differences that I no longer pay attention to.Your mystery plant that was growing everywhere is called an Ice Plant. There are a lot of different varities of it, but it is pretty common out here, especially around the beach areas.Your interresting plant after your red jade is called a succulent. once again there are many types.your aloe vera plant is another type of succulent... i think its close to a yucca plant, but im not sure. It sucks, I regret it... I now look like a feminine-pansy freak (no offense Robin). I couldnt grow a decent one either till I was 22-23.I always go back to what my Dad said to me at the time… "Son, if you can't grow a decent one, don't"Having older sisters also helped with some insight at the time, ie.. chicks think you look pretty creepy ifit's a wispy tache. If its massive and bushy, they dont really wanna kiss you for too long as it gives themsore lips from the spikies)Also the more you shave it, the thicker it will grow and the faster it will grow. Then I realized which username said that. So uhh…. Check out Drake, DrNova, Niko, Kreator, etc. Not everyone are 12-year-old boney posing kids posting themselves half-naked; though I'm seeing quite afew, now that you mention it...
