Cake Versus Pie

Icecream cake

Birthday cake
Batman cake

srsly, cake > pie.

You dont walk into a bakery and order a batman pie, you order a batman cake.
You dont walk into IHOP and order a pie for breakfast, you order a pancake.
You dont walk into a party and get birthday pie, you get birthday cake.

But with each pro-pie argument is a pro-cake response.

The reason why;
it is cake instead of pie;
Is because who would under go pathos;
for the sake of pie through using portals?

They have a base of crushed biscuit which is then covered in a cream cheese, sugar and cream mix and is then covered in fruit compote.

If America crusts off their cheesecakes, then good for them, but that doesn't mean you can categorise all cheesecakes as pies.

Cheesecake is a filling. It's neither explicitly a pie nor a cake. If you bake it in a cake tin, it's a cake. If you put it in a pie crust, it's pie. It really depends on how you serve it. I've never had it baked, myself, but I've also never had it in a crust.

@Lollicat:

> I'm pretty sure cheesecake is most often referring to the middle part, which is more of a creamy pie filling than a cake.

This is true, but it does not make it a pie, still. Chocolate pudding is used in a chocolate pie, but chocolate pudding is not by itself a pie.

The cheesecake filling is not a pie, nor a cake, but more an ingredient that can be used in either.

> I say Pie wins. I love certain cakes, but I love the varieties of pies. You can't find blackberry, cherry, apple, or peach cakes.
