Custom cliff tiles

I've been working on these for a couple days now, the cliff tiles perfectly and I love this cliff compared to my other ones because it actually looks like a cliff. I'm not so fond of the grass though, if anyone has any ideas on how I could fix the grass that'd be great.

I suggest you make the preview image wider. Copy the middle cliff and grass tiles so the image is a square - it will be more impressive to look at (also we'll see how they tile to eachother).

As for the tiles - I really like them. Maybee they could use some more shading/lighting and a bit of color variety. But I like them. Only thing I don't like is that you fliped the sides… but I can understand that, I'm a lazy man myself.

They look great but a few pointers I'd say make the palette a bit more clean, make the dark shades more purple that tends to mkae nice rock, but also the very top rocks seem to be a different hue altogether to the other rocks? Apart from that i like em, show us a preview of them tiling? I don't rate images.

The reason I didn't try to use some more colors is because 1) I've never tried that before and 2) the game style were reaching for with these tiles is more dark. That's why I limited the use of lighting on these cliffs.

I've never thought of using purple as a cooperative color. I suppose I'll try that. The top of the rock is the same colors as the below rocks, I don't see what you're talking about  :P

It looks different, but yeah use purpley dark colours will improve your palette, i suggest posting it on a real pixel art forum like pixelation you'll get loads of help there.

Flat top of cliff is flat.

The side looks really neat tho.

Neat design.. Colors could use work.. needs more contrast, and maybe some hue shifting so display depth on the rocks. so far not to bad.. just needs a a little work to be much better.

It looks awesome. Though it's a bit dark. [But that also depends where the terrain is that the mountains is placed.]

The grass looks fine. Should attempt a cave version of cliffs next :)

Nice work man, it's much better than anything I could create, yet I've seen a lot better. Though it's your own creation and you defintely get points for making things custom. I'd like to see more work from you when you get other pieces done. Keep it up.  :cheesy:

Looks a little to flat, like the top stands up to much or something, but I like the style

Awkward palette. Awkward sides (It goes straight down, then comes out at an angle). Otherwise, I love the texture of the stalagmites coming up on the ground surface.

The slant out on the bottom looks weird unless ur sprites match that style.  Otherwise pretty good though, I love the texture of the cliff!

It looks good but I don't like how the slopes angle out so much at the corners but the sides don't have any slope at all.

The top edges of the cliff should come out a little more. And the grass just needs a little length I think. anyway, I was gonna draw some lines showing what I mean, but I decided to go ahead and do a small edit to show what I mean:
