@Rob:

> So, I don't really do graphics, a UI is the most you'll see me do, and even then it's not impressive.  As Schnurman is very hard at work on the character and npc sprites as well as armor sets etc, we have no tileset artist.  I started to give it a shot myself.  Just a WIP so far ;)

Replace the black on the leaves with dark green.

This is my next attempt at pixel art. Potions. Feel free to use them free of charge if you like them, credit of course ;)  Inspired by Yiing from the RPG maker forums, I love his work, I've used his sprites as a reference for shading and lighting.

As for Aloria and the source, we're still plugging away.  Schnurman is hard at work with sprites, I'm slowly but surely tackling the world tiles and Rithy has been a trooper on our new website ;)  It's all coming together nicely.

Hmm, Adding full screen is do-able.  Would require you to restart your client whenever you change the size of the UI, but doable. I'll look into it.

Here's a screenshot of the game so far, using my own grass and trees

Looks good.
You need to sort the transitions out between the long and cropped grass, though.
Try some overlapping blades with shadows under them to make it look taller, too. You could also have a stab at introducing a darker colour to the tall grass pallette to make it seem deeper.

I'm liking this project a lot Rob (the game & engine). I think you're making a good step forward in this community with it. Of course, as always there will be the people who just map something in the base engine and release it as a game, but I think the engine will bring a lot of actually devoted developers back to eclipse. Making eclipse the "user-friendly" place it used to be.

Keep it up man!  ;)

Oh and Rob, I read earlier in the topic that you were thinking of adding in a heart system rather than a health bar. Not sure if you meant the engine or the game, but I'd say keep it to the game. Don't want all your best features in everyone's game too. ;)
