Hmm, I didn't know about VirtualBox, not that I was looking for it. I'm going to have to try it out when I get home.

Visual Basic 6 will work on Wine.

Some program will work even better or worse on Linux (Ubuntu)
World of Warcraft work better on Linux(Just for an example)

I'll recommend you to uppgrade your Ubuntu verson to 10.04 LTS.

It's called Berkeley or BSD sockets for God's sake *trollface*.

This means that the user tailor makes their operating system to their wants/needs/desires/specifications etc leaving you with a completely personal OS. So therefore you donthave all the xcess baggage such as driver packs for hardware you don't even have or software that you don't even use.

You could as well compile either BSD, GNU/Linux or GNU/Hurd *trollface* from scratch, while you are at it.

@Xeross:

> I might setup a dual-boot with windows, but as I play a lot of games Ubuntu isn't ideal, it's possible but not everything will work flawlessly.

Ubuntu has its own repertoire of games, even though smaller, some games are pretty good.

I had once set up a machine with the following boot options: Windows XP, Windows 7 Release Candidate, Solaris 10 and Linux Ubuntu 9.10.

And you're one.
If you're not interested on this topic, don't post and if you are, at least read what it's about.

Yeh silly absurd idea.

Also as for Guitar Pro just use TuxGuitar instead, it's better anyway [http://tuxguitar.herac.com.ar/](http://tuxguitar.herac.com.ar/)
