This is an old PlayStation 1 game but I will have to admit. It is one of the best game I have ever played. It has big boss fights. An engaging story that is surprisingly long. The special moves from all of the main characters are spectacular and to finish it all off it has a trading card game within the game.

I can't express enough how much I love this game and I think everyone should play this in their lifetime!

Wow, I feel so old after seeing people posting PS1 and N64 games and labeling them as old. Hell most of my favorite games are for the NES and SNES. I was a kid when these came out. I still kind of count PS1 and N64 as somewhat recent.

Anyways, games everyone should play once in their life:

1\. Star Tropics 1 and 2 for NES.
2\. Metroid for NES.
3\. AD&D(Advanced dungeons and dragons) for NES.
4\. Zelda: The adventures of Link for NES.
5\. Paperboy for NES.
6\. Super Metroid for SNES.
7\. Secret of Mana for SNES.
8\. F Zero for SNES.

Oh, I forgot one that was, in my eyes, legendary. Faxanadu. It was a fantasy style side scroller for the NES. It was one of the first games to offer a free roam style game play as well as items showing up on your character sprite. Plus the music was great.

A game i personally feel is on of the most underrated RPGs of all time: Tales of Symphonia (GameCube)
I guess you could add Tales of Destiny in there as well.

I absolutely love the battle system in all the Tales games, not much of a turn-based fan. And if you can see past some of the minor flaws that are in the game, you'll surely be amazed by how quickly you feel for the characters and the depth of the story. Absolutely original as well.
