SawQuart
Although this game is still in early development, I still think you all should see it. I came across it on Youtube and then got directed towards the developer's blog.http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=o61XVOxuB5shttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=WRjfful_L-4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jujKOju_MBM&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwollay.blogspot.com%2F&feature=player_embedded**Blog URL**[http://wollay.blogspot.com](http://wollay.blogspot.com)After looking around, I decided to email the developer about the game to find out more about it, and here is what I found out (it might be useful to any of you aspiring 3D game devs):1\. The developer has a PhD in CS2\. He says that you shouldn't need a PhD to create the game, just it helped him with the math3\. He wants to develop the game purely on his own, from the graphics to the sound to the programming4\. He developed the game using C and DirectX. He programmed most of the other stuff on his own.5\. He says he started game development when he was a teen and experimented.6\. He got inspiration for the game from Zelda, Minecraft, and Diablo, but he doesn't want to add mining or crafting (see the FAQ on the blog).Overall the guy was really nice through the emails. I just wanted to share this game with you guys so that you could keep tabs on it while it's still in development.

mrmiguu
I've watched some of his earlier development videos. I like the direction in which he is going. The gameplay looks much better (very fun, at that). Can't wait to see his next update.

guzmanm
@Marsh:> Never been much of a fan of minecraft but this i would play. Looks super fun.Me neither. But the feel of playing a game inspired from many awesome RPGs in a cube-like world would be so DAMN awesome! But the thing that hits me the most is that the only person doing this game wants to develop it by his own. My hero.

Kusy
Games should be released when they are done… alphas should not be released to anyone but developers. Beta is an option. Just because one fat swede had to release every single alpha version doesn't mean everyone has to.
guzmanm
> “The sooner the game is out the sooner we can start farming for feedback and problems.> > Having an early version out whilst the full game is still in development is actually a pretty good way of improving on the concept without having to re-do work which has already been done.> Being a perfectionist and trying to get everything done before releasing it is plain stupid. Look at all the idiots in the projects section not letting shit get released before they think it's "finished".> > The reason I get stuff done properly is because I get it released as soon as it can be released. If something needs to be fixed I can fix it on the fly. If something needs to be changed I can change it. You need something out there as soon as possible so people can start screwing around with it and testing the things you simply don't have time to test as a single person.> > That's why companies have entire departments dedicated to testing shit over and over again. You can't do that by yourself so you use your players for it.â€Â> -Robin Perris

Just because one fat swede had to release every single alpha version doesn't mean everyone has to.Or they could release it to a select amount of people that have connections to the press. That way people start talking about it and demand is created. I think that's how Terraria was marketed, but I'm not sure…
