Your best bet is to just zoom your 16x16 tiles to x2\. It's quite in at the moment, Games like Silverdale, Enlandor use it. It gives a Snes feel to it.

You would need some VB6 knowledge to code it in, It is possible though.

my epic gui, what have you done to it! Its been tarnished, raped, sunburnt and thrown in the mud.

Hey Chief, Nice sprite. I suggest softening the outline of the sprite and adding more contrast to the colour shades. Overall it looks pretty good but needs some refinements in the colour choice. :)

Very Grungy. Its definitely not easy on the eyes. A good GUI isn't too eye catching and distracts you away from the game.

Congratulations on your first attempts at graphics. :) Some words of advice, i cannot stress enough that you should never save any game gfx in the jpeg format. It adds artifacts and makes it unusable to basically any engine which uses a transparent colour. I can't really give you any pointers to improve on the actual pixeling because its in horrible jpeg compression. lol. Keep practicing, look at some pixel art tutorials and you'll soon get better :).

If your using this as a sprite, try making it symmetrical. It basically halfens the work you have to do.

Just change the colours around abit, it will look epic. 

The maple leaves and grass, those brushes are included with photoshop.

I didn't assume anything. I only assumed that he used the default PS brushes of which i'm 95% sure of. The other things i said were a suggestions and criticism. Yeah, Dezire you did. :sad:

Inexperienced? I looked at the GUI and made a judgement on what it could and should improve on. How is that inexperienced? Wow, I try to help and i get shot down.
