lollicat
I love nuts in ice cream! Except when it's frozen. But sometimes I'll get out some vanilla ice cream, pour caramel syrup on it and sprinkle pecans over everything. Best thing in the world…

Thorn
As marsh said earlier, they are too frozen to have any flavor, and you usually just wind up getting that shitty nut texture. It's like why Americans serve beer at freezing temperatures. That way they don't have to taste how terrible and weak it is.
Gohan
@Thorn:> It's like why Americans serve beer at freezing temperatures. That way they don't have to taste how terrible and weak it is.Yes I've heard Irish beer is great. I need to go there sometime.Besides breaking your teeth and nuts having no taste when frozen, to tell the truth the nuts actually make the ice cream taste worse! Really if you're going to put something in ice cream that isn't cookies or candy, it better be fruit. Nuts just don't belong.
lollicat
BUT THAT'S ONLY FROZEN NUTS.If you take a handful out of a bag of NORMAL TEMPERATURE nuts, it's great!
Anna Comnena
Yeah I don't care for them so much, but they make a great topping sprinkled on a sundae.
Lukin
Since Renzo made this topic, I came here thinking of a different kind of nuts. Anyway.. I guess nuts can be good in icecream, if they're not completely frozen. I don't really eat icecream that much, I do use it to make awesome milkshake with though! Marsh
Thats another point id like to bring up, if you turn it into a milkshake those freaken nuts are always clogging up your damn straw.
