Akselj
Well, here's the world map for Exiled. Its base is made by Perry and outlined (which takes a shitload of time xD) by me.Original:>! ![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/a1eae072a52b548025487c1274ce11db.jpg)Outlined:>! ![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/1be33ff1c34c1e9fd550a8a78606c884.jpg)Outlined (with forests also outlined)>! ![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/2389d3d669d43bd4a5912026d8f1c9c7.jpg)I know my outlining isn't perfect but still… Comment and criticize.[UPDATE]Perry has now fixed the colors and added texture. Note: The colors are the same (except for the forest), just fixed where there were wrong colors.>! ![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/eff045cf5d6d42309ef293355d17a51c.jpg)
New2Eclipse
wow, detailed map, wil certainly be an interesting game world :icon_surprised: (it is a world map for a game right?)May I ask how many 'maps' it is going to use?
Akselj
Well, it's 1024x1024, and each map is 15x12\. I'll have to do some maths on it.
New2Eclipse
I think that is about 70 mapsWhen my game world is completed it will have 530 maps :azn:Although I will only take it that far if the first version is reasonably popular…
SawQuart
There's still some green smudges in the blue water. Try to fix that up and it'll look really cool. I also like that little skull island you've got going on in the bottom right of the map!
Patrick
I'm guessing you used Cloud in photoshop to get that?

Anna Comnena
I wouldn't bother outlining the forests unless you plan to add texture to those spaces. Also the map in general makes no geographic sense.
Jeff
Is it like, an archipelago or something? It has lots of islands, and no continents. Interesting, could be really cool for a game if your game has sailing or some other feature with water.

Also the map in general makes no geographic sense.I'll use the one without forests outlined then. And it's for a game, does it have to make geographic sense? :P@Jeff:> Is it like, an archipelago or something? It has lots of islands, and no continents. Of course I'll have sailing!
Robin
Stop being lazy and make a real map instead of just using layer filters.
Akselj
@Robin:> Stop being lazy and make a real map instead of just using layer filters. No!Besides, the only thing in game development I'm good at is design and programming, so you can't expect me to make graphics properly.Besides, I think it turned out nice. Some didn't like it, but I think I might use it. Baron
@Sir:> Besides, I think it turned out nice.> Some didn't like it, but I think I might use it.I say go for it, I love clusters of small islands, lets you vary up the theme heaps.
Thorn
I was skeptical at first, but it's feasible. It even looks like it functions on tectonic plates, albeit a gajillion tiny ones.Naval power would be a defining force for most factions in this place, of course. Anna Comnena
I really think you should add texture to the forests anyway. If not that then atleast make their fields darker. Actually since your whole map is just filters over filters, why wouldn't you just do texture on the forest fields anyway?:huh:Also yeah it could work but the mountains are in wierd spots; more volcanic shifts than that folding that causes continental ranges. Lukin
I think you should just use the outlines you've done, and then redo the colors, since the cloud filter in Photoshop clearly does not work for a map. It did however work for some nice shapes. :)
Kusy
@Anna:> Also yeah it could work but the mountains are in wierd spots; more volcanic shifts than that folding that causes continental ranges.lol… geography... please. SawQuart
I just realized how big a pain it would be to make all those little islands. Maybe you should clean up some of them?

Akselj
I told Perry to do everything in your tut up to the outlining (so I could do that, I didn't want him to work way to much). Then I outlined it, and Perry fixed the colors and added texture.
