Skilled Music Composer - Currently Closed!

      **Update-**
My preferred format is MIDI. My aim in this free service is strictly to become better and faster at composing. When I have better software and soundsets, I might look to producing realistic and high quality orchestrations, but this is currently not what I'm here to achieve. Although I will attempt to orchestrate your piece if you strongly want so, I'd recommend them in MIDI format instead, as I will be writing them in a MIDI format in a tabliture editor.

Once again, I'm offering my skills for free as a music composer to the community. For a limited time, I'll complete requests for anyone on the forum, offering free original music tracks for use in your game or project. I haven't written much music lately and I want to change this, I hope you guys will give me the opportunity to try new things, and get some more experience in composition.

If you would like me to make music for your game or film, just reply using the template given below. Your only allowed to ask for one track at a time, however as soon as I complete that track for you, you may indeed reply and ask for another. Please give as much information as you can, to help me get it right. You may even use visual aids, such as a map of the area your going to use it in.

Here is some of my sample work, to show you what I'm currently capable of. Some were made to fit a medieval fantasy environment, while others were made to fit a modern, or science fiction setting. All tracks loop seamlessly.

I retain all rights to the tracks I make. Only the person I make the track for is allowed to use it, and of course, they have to credit me (Beau Buckley), By requesting music from me, you acknowledge that you understand this.

Please use the template here, as a guide to how to request a song.

**Game Name-** The name of your game. Include URL if possible.
**Track Name-** The name of the music track.
**Setting-** The genre setting, such as Medieval Fantasy or Science Fiction.
**Graphics-** If you supply information on the game it's for, such as what graphics your using and such; it should help me to make the track feel more suited to your game, and compliment the art-style. If your using custom graphics, you may even provide a URL to a screenshot, or just a description. It's also helpful if you let me know if the game is realistic and brutal, or comical and chibi-style.
**Inspirations-** If you want the song to feel inspired or have similar style to a video game franchise such as Legend of Zelda, please state it here, and I'll try my best to adapt it. Provide links where possible.
**Atmosphere-** A description of the area the track will be used, including details on the environment, any monsters, or plot sequences in it.
**Tempo-** How fast or slow would you like the track? If your unsure you can leave the decision to myself.
**Texture-** How 'thick' do you want the track to sound? Do you want many instruments, making it feel fuller, or less? More instruments can often make the track feel more atmospheric, but lose emphasis on the melody. You might want a thick textured track for an atmospheric cave theme, or perhaps less for more memorable dungeon theme. You may leave the decision for me if your unsure.
**Other Request-** Any specific instrument or other request you'd like in the song? If so, mention it here.
**Keywords-** Words to describe the emotions the track will convey, such as eerie, mysterious, happy, or frightening.
**Format-** Although I'd prefer MIDI, If you really desire MP3, I'll try to make an orchestrated piece for you.

Donate
If your happy with the free music I've composed for you, please consider a donation. Not only will it make me like you more, and make you feel good about doing so, but It will incent me to continue this service, and put you above the queue (wink wink), should there ever be high demand for my free service.

**Frequently asked Questions**
_Q : If I'm not happy with the song you've made me, can I ask you to edit it, or even redo it without making you want to kill me?_
A : Yes, absolutely. To avoid this however, try and be as clear as you can as to what you want in your request description. If I feel you weren't clear and want the song remade, I'll probably put you to the end of the queue though, to give others a fair go, and possibly come up with some new ideas for your track.

_Q : Why doesn't the song loop smoothly? There seems to be a small delay between the end and start?_
A: Because your name is probably 'Projeear' and your using Windows Media Player to attempt to loop the song, which adds a small pause between the replaying of the song.
_Q: What are the conditions of using the tracks you have made for me?_
A: I reserve all rights to the tracks, meaning I may use the tracks myself personally, or restrict you from using it any-more. However, if you donate this is no longer the case, and you will have all rights to the tracks, and be the sole user of them. I will always retain the right to feature the track in my portfolio though, which is one of the main reasons I'm working on these songs, for experience and for my portfolio.
_Q: Can I personal message you the song I wish for you to compose?_
A: No, and I'm not sure why so many people are requesting through personal messages. This is a perfectly good topic made for your requests, where I can keep track of who I've composed for, what I've composed, and who I'm to compose for next. If your not wanting the track to be visible to the community then don't request, because it will be shown off in my portfolio, just as easy to access.

_Q: How do I download and save the song to my computer?_
A: Right click on the URL to the song, and select 'save link as'.

**Final Note-** I've noticed an individual who thought he'd have no problem using a collection of my music in his game, without asking, giving credit, or any sort of other intelligent pursuit. I ask of anyone who notices my music being used without sufficient credit, or apparent permission to drop me a personal message. When I make music for requests, it's for the particular member only. I want it to be unique and specific for them, and I also don't want to have to 'overly protect' my music, removing it from my portfolio or restricting it's publicity.

Thank you,

Hope your okay with .midi, I originally wasn't going to make mp3s this time around. I only have a few sound-sets in FL Studio, and I definitely didn't have enough to make this sound decent. Personally I think this track would be ruined if it were in any other format then .mid. Hope you like it.

**Game Name-** I don't have a name (it's in development), but my aim is for it to be an isometric block game, and here is the general look:

http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/1/11035/1685671-voxpop.png

and here is what I've accomplished so far:

http://jungletoe.com (half-assed tumblr blog, but it shows how I've been doing)
http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/821b3220962d7c31ef4c50484af1a561.PNG

**Track Name-** Memory Chip

**Setting-** There really isn't any setting or lore, but I hope you get an idea from the picture. It's kind of survival/fantasy.

**Graphics-** See above links…

**Inspirations-** I really like the sounds of Terraria's sound track. The chiptunes sounds are really fascinating. Here is a link to Terraria's theme:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS0KSdcXNM0&feature=related

**Atmosphere-** I would like it to start off atmospheric and loose, perhaps with some pads. I would slowly like it to progress to a consistent pace with some harsh chiptune synths, and then finally end it with a nice flowing atmospheric pad. Basically, I want it to be loopable and flow seamlessly.

**Tempo-** Anywhere from 120-140 BPM would be great.

**Texture-** As I said before, I want it to start off with atmosphere, and progress into a melody. Overall though, I'd like it to be generally empty.

**Other Request-** Atmospheric pads, maybe a flowing violin and some non-harsh percussion. Some glitchy synths would be nice too. Basically, I want the glitchy synths to contrast with the atmosphere towards the middle.

**Keywords-** Loose, happy, flowing, atmospheric, nostalgic.

**Format-** I'd prefer OGG, but just saw your recent post… so whatever you feel like.

OKAY, so basically I need this song for inspiration and for my main theme. Sorry if I'm being a bit specific, but I figured that you'd have a better time understanding my request this way.

Here's your main menu track. I know you'll love it. If you make additional requests, I'd like to see more updates and progress on your game, so I can see it going somewhere! Thanks! (:

This one I'm proud of, enjoy-

If the planning and brainstorming goes any deeper, I'll be sure to come here! You're very damn talented, Kreator!

I still can't speak… xD
