  2. Am very interested in seeing this progress. The ripped/resized graphics probably aren't the best idea though, try to recreate them from scratch, they'll look better. Thanks- Dog
  3. Just so that everyone's clear, he can't really do "anything" and his mapping needs some work, not an issue if you're willing to babysit and help him improve with feedback. Things he can't do that you probably want; * Music * Programming * Graphics * Pixel art Thanks- Dog
  4. Oh my * God. Your pixel "art" and now this. Man, I was having a good day, headache free until I listened to this. What disaster are you gonna show next? Is this some elaborate prank to troll us all? It's not funny. _please stop posting._
  5. > I've wrote a tutorial for this. Nin Online is aiming to use this engine as well as helping Vaughan progress it. Open-source for life, I don't want to end up being stuck with just a closed-source version from Eclipse. > > > > -snip- What happened to Robin's Crystal Toolset that listed Nin Online as one of it's flagship projects?? [http://en.sfml-dev.org/forums/index.php?topic=12072.msg93727#msg93727](http://en.sfml-dev.org/forums/index.php?topic=12072.msg93727#msg93727) I wanted that engine to be a thing. :< On Topic: This does look pretty amazing, I hope it actually gets finished. "Vaughan is going to resume it in 2 weeks. He has had family in the hospital and been sick recently, which has made him inactive for around 2-3 months." Inspires very little confidence that it ever will be as that was the same excuse used by hundreds of programmers in the past, including Robin. Best of luck.
  6. Let's hope it does get finished. We need someone to finally finish and release an engine that isn't VB6 or VB.NET.

Man, you ruined that portrait. Sorry, but it's true. You don't replace chocolate spread with mud and then go around showing it off.
  8. > Paperdolls take quite a bit longer than one minute of work. It took me at least 10-15 minutes just to make an axe paperdoll and properly line it up with the sprite. So even $1 is still pretty low. Thats about $4 an hour and in that hour I could make double working at a fast food restaurant. Whilst I entirely agree with your opinion on this topic, I don't think one can substitute a real job with taking pixel art commissions.

    > Then don't play games from EA, I don't play games just because they're from INSERT_COMPANY_NAME_HERE just because they're INSERT_COMPANY_NAME_HERE, its because I like them. However, I do agree, EA games suck. Phew for a moment there I thought you were gonna stick up for EA. Got my hopes up, would've been entertaining.
  10. > I am stopping in just to reply here, I personally liked what you were doing, not that I had time to help out or say that before. > > > > With that said, I am not going to ever be the one to beg someone to stay. I can only recommend that you never let any number of people bring you down for silly stuff. > > > > Best of luck with whatever you move on to, > > JC You liked him trying to buy admin? He wasn't doing jack shit for Eclipse, he was trying to get himself into a position of power, likely so he could abuse it. Ultimately though, you don't know what happened and you've only seen his perspective. Me, Jump and Xelander were all in the teamspeak when he was being a bitch and all three of us will tell you our stories individually if you want - otherwise though, I'd suggest that you don't assume we're the bad guys without knowing anything. ;) If having a VoIP means that much to you, I have a dedicated mumble server based in New Jersey. You and any other mods of Eclipse can have admin, but I personally will never ban or kick anyone from the server, precisely to avoid situations like this where some guy becomes power hungry and starts banning people left and right. We've both seen our fair share of "those" types, I'm sure. > Crest, I understand how you feel. I like the effort you did but always remember that you can't please everybody. Positive criticism and negative criticism are always part of life! ;) > > Good luck Crest! ;) It had nothing to do with pleasing anyone. He made unfounded accusations and became ban happy without due reason. Again, I'd suggest keeping away from this drama if you don't know what's going on. > Goodbye Crest ;( Although I didn't know you very well it was nice talking to you in the chat box every once in a while. I know what you mean though. I came very close to leaving Eclipse due to the same reasons. That's because you can't take criticism. If you make threads asking for feedback and then don't like said feedback either this isn't the place for you or you should refrain from posting anything you don't want to be criticized. Ultimately - Crest is the one who left. Three members on this forum were in the Teamspeak with him at the time. We were there to see him being an asshat and he knows that. We would never leave Eclipse over this, we would fight our corner because we were in the right. But everyone seems to be believing this guy's ragequit post, whereas we all refrained from spamming up the forums with this stupid shit. If we made a topic would it make you all understand that just because this person posted about it - that doesn't instantly make his perspective the right one?
  11. This is a prime example of what I was saying the other day - all theory, no magic. All of your stuff sounds mechanical, rigid chord structure. I honestly don't like the first 10 or so tracks on your soundcloud account. Working with game music is different than any other music medium. Your goal is to make music that isn't meant to be listened to. It's meant to be in the background, people need to be able to listen to it for 60 hours without getting listener's fatigue.
  12. > Will you please just stop trolling my topic. Thank you. I also mean no offense by it. You're just defeating the purpose of this. Its all for fun. I'm having fun. That's it. And isn't that really the point of all of this. Considering what type of community this is… so please back off my nut sack. Much Love Anyway I personally like this map and the graphics style! Yeah, you would. I think we've all seen your taste in your music thread.
  13. > -.-, They are still beginners, don't expect something better.. > > > > On-Topic: are those made on paint or did you draw it and you did a line draw? ![](http://puu.sh/ah0kv/ba24527d60.png)![](http://puu.sh/ah11v/078e771b59.png)![](http://puu.sh/ah16n/8619a989f6.png) New member. Uh-huh.
  14. > Thank you! > > > > Thank you for the criticism. Also every other community besides Eclipse i've been known as Dog same goes for my Youtube channel so thats why my username is that in the game. List 'em.
  15. > Am I really arrogant? Dunno, it felt that way at first but speaking to you on TS, you're not really the * that I thought you were. My first impression of you, it felt like I was talking to Robin. My previous post was in response to Xelander basically saying that I was the pot calling the kettle black.
  16. I think you're wrong there, some "artists" will do that deal, only problem is, they won't be artists - lmao. Even if you were a speed demon motherfucker, keyboard shortcutting through a pd every 5 minutes, you're still only earning like, $1.20 p/hour.
  17. > I think this was hilarious. I'm joking 10% of the time, c'mon.
  18. I'd just like EVERYONE to know that I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS PROJECT. I AM IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH THIS PERSON OR PROJECT. They just coincidentally have a screenshot of a character called "Dog" on their website. A coincidence and not some ploy to market off of my godlike popularity, I'm sure. //serious comment. I have NEVER and will NEVER contributed or contribute anything to this project. Could you please take the screenshot of "Dog" down from your site and replace it with something else. Some people might get confused and assume anything you make is linked to me and assume it's mine, which will give me a bad reputation for having superior poor quality work. I might want to open up a graphics store in the talent center one day. On topic: I hate the music. I like the drum sequence for the marketplace soundtrack but everything else is Garbagé. //Obligatory niceties Wish I could be more constructive than it seems but when it comes to music, it's all about practice. Pixel art is mostly theory, music is mostly practice. Almost, every musician I've met who tried to make a song for me has failed to make anything I like. They make over complicated shit that's completely unmemorable because all they know is music theory and it comes out sounding like ass being ploughed along a piano. Your friend definitely has an ear for music, unless he copied that drum sequence from somewhere, but natural skill only gets you so far. Good luck with your project.
  19. Anyone who thinks these graphics look good needs to see, or blindly fumble, their way to an optician. If my eyes could gag, I'd be vomiting. //obligatory encouragement Good luck.
  20. I couldn't get any of the silverdale sources to compile into working executables, which is a shame.Still, the player stock store system should be in there somewhere!
