Vaughan
I can… but not for 50 bucks.
Guest
Define I can. What graphics/sound engine would you replace,
Vaughan
That's pretty trivial. Once could replace it with SFML and use OpenGL if they wanted, Lidgren is a pretty good networking choice… not that I'm opting to do this. It's a lot of work, you're going to have to offer a LOT of money and some kind of other incentive.
Guest
Well like I said $50.00\. Offer?

Mal
For $350 and 2 months, I'll do it; that's also selling you a license for my socket library. $300 of that charge is just because you're wanting it done in VB. ![;)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png)

jcsnider
$350 is still cheap as hell for a complete re-write of EO 2.3….

Rob Janes
I know I'm rewriting the VB6 engine with my team but for $1000 I'll pause and rewrite it in .NET heh.
JohnPony
My only question is, why VB.net?
Mal
> My only question is, why VB.net?What's what I wanted to know initially, but I figured I'd get the ball rolling on a somewhat slightly more reasonable price. I think Rob's is a bit closer to the mark.

Guest
lolwhywouldyoudothis. Why don't you actually learn VB.net and begin to write your own engine. I did that last year when I had pretty much very little to no knowledge of VB6 and now I can pretty much sit down and solve most VB6 problems. Ancient
I support people paying hundreds of dollars for programming work here. Even if it may be a trivial request. If anything its an incentive to draw more programmers to the site.
dimx
How about a trusted admin creates a Paypal account and people that would like to contribute to this add the money to that pot. When 350 is collected pay Budweiser. The people that contributed get the source. But there should be a minimum amount you could contribute. With daxtercc's 50 bucks that's 300 more to go which is really cheep and can be easily done with a community that has a user base this huge. DMF
xD,,, first off [paying 100s for this kind of engine is silly. 350 isnt that bad like evil bunny said. but 1000+ some might want is a lil crazy.so lets see what will happen.

Mal
A sucker to do it for $50? I wouldn't expect quality work or for it to be done at all.
