Build Me A Computer Worthy of Mordor.

All nerdiness aside, I start college this summer and need a laptop for my programming/game developing classes. The thing is, I know very little about laptops and need some assistance in customizing/building a laptop (from any site, as long as it's a great laptop). I want it to be very high end; for gaming, rendering, processing power, and if possible ways to keep it from overheating.

The best thing is I get reimbursed for it, so I have a budget of up to $3k to build a laptop. So any help would be much appreciated.

Alienware is overpriced and poorly built. There are so many other good alternatives and Alienware are nothing but a glowing pile of plastic.

I have Acer Aspire 5553G and I am completely happy with it, only thing is, that it's older now and it could have better cooling… ![:)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png)

I do as well! I agree. Cooling is a problem.

> I think the best ones are from Alienware.

No way.

If you could give us an idea of how much you would spend then that would be helpful, also what would you be using it for? Video rendering or gaming

^ Seriously, I need some glasses, I suggest you take a look on pcspecialist.co.uk - if you're not from the UK it doesn't matter as you can get an idea of what kind of laptop you want and it can give you a huge range of options to select from and even the prices!

i hope you know I was sharing an opinion, not implying him to buy one.

Goto a site like this: http://pc.ncix.com/pcbuilder/

Select a base pc. Then at every step it will ask you how much ram you want etc. Buy accordingly. Give them a extra 50 and they will put the whole computer together for you. That way you can get exactly the specs you want.

Dont get any of those awesome looking computers. You end up paying for special effects and not a good system.

Laptop builders are probably a bit harder to find.

Gave it a look, the price for what you get is a bit too much

Wanting something new, so I don't have to update for quite a while.

Appreciate it, but not as powerful as I would like.

This is very nice, will keep this one in mind for sure. *Edit* The more I look at this, the more I love it.

Unfortunately for class, I require a laptop (although I prefer desktops).

Appreciate the feedback guys, any other suggestions are welcome! ![^_^](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.png)
