  1. > You're forgetting that the main game has 20+ free to play worlds, where 07scape **requires** membership. Honestly, even I completely don't play runescape once my membership runs out. I wait until I'm a member again and then I'm back into 07\. If 07 had free worlds, I would definitely play more often, so what's to say that others wouldn't. :s If we were to ignore F2P for a moment, then in order for your initial statement about 07scape vs RS3 to be true, **half** of the players online at any given point need to be F2P (or 2/3 of those on live game). Thing is, that's not even remotely close to reality. About 10-15% of online players are F2P. Therefore, you're still very very off. RS3 activity greatly triumphs over 2007scape regardless. Secondly, 07scape doesn'tb really need to be F2P. It's an ancient snapshot meant to satisfy a special interest group. Making it F2P would just worsen the already bad 07scape bot infestation and suck company resources out of the live game. Not to mention worsen the chasm in the community caused by 07scape. Sorry to come off as aggressive, but I don't care how big your ego is; the game isn't dead just because you don't like it anymore. This "runescape is dead" crap perpetuated by the misinformed, the overly nostalgic, and the inflexible is getting old.
  2. > Tbh, the worlds have more people than the main game. Of course there are less, but each worlds has 100+ in them and most are usually 250+ the main games worlds are only ever at 150+ and 200+ during updates :S I think runescape in general is dead, not just this section. That is absolutely incorrect. 2007scape has substantially less players and has continued to decline. [http://www.misplaced…/2007online.php](http://www.misplaceditems.com/2007online.php)
  3. Nostalgia doesn't last forever. :(
  4. Not bad. Here are a few of my tips: -The tileset could really benefit from some darker colors included in the mix. Especially since you already have a dark grass and people outline, dark dirt details, dark windows, and dark cave. Consistency matters! -I suggest adding some highlights and shadows. It could really make things pop without needing to change your palette. Remember: If the lightsource is coming from above, then things perpendicular to the ground get less light than things parallel to the ground. So a cliffside would be darker than dirt! -Avoid mirroring to cheat on details. i.e. the tree foliage -In a natural world, the grass would reach the edge of the cliffside, not stop a tile before the edge. -Your cliffside would probably look more natural if - instead of dividing the rocky wall into 4 rows/layers - you randomized it a bit. When making cliff walls I usually place rocks at random and "fill in" the empty spaces. Right now the cliff looks too grid-like imo. -Caves don't instantly turn pitch black when they begin. :P A little light creeps in and they fade to black. Either way the transition should be a little less harsh.

Ahh… back when mistyping the url took you to a celebrity pronz site.
  6. > Please refrain from insulting people when you have no idea what you're talking about. If you took the time to actually look and compare, they aren't anything like the RPGM tiles on a pixel base. In fact he may have used a similar palette but if he didn't these wouldn't look anything like RPGM. Sherwin has a unique art style that he's shared with us several times already and that this looks nothing like it. People typically don't drastically morph technique like that unless something fishy is going on. But, for the sake of proving that _you have no idea what you're talking about_… let's ignore that first red flag. 20 minutes of using RPG Maker on default: >! ![](http://i.imgur.com/u2zw3WM.png) ![](http://eatenbrain.com/filehost/files/bd1880484ff07565b32a49c197a41b89.PNG) There's nothing wrong with wanting to shrink and customize the RPG Maker tileset a bit. However, ripping someone else's work, claiming it as 100% your own, and expecting a pat on the back for it doesn't sit right with me. It shouldn't sit right with you either. > Once again, another stupid insult on Eclipse. I'm noticing a pattern with you. Oh? Would you mind going into detail with this claim before you come off as a hypocrite?
  7. You've halved the size of RPGMaker tiles - big whoop. To say they're inspired is misleading when they're nothing more than rehashed copies. Considering they aren't even altered enough to save you from copyright infringement, I don't know what the point of this was.

    Religon

We've had this argument on Eclipse numerous times. Do we really need yet _another_ topic on the same thing? It's not fair of you to stereotype all Christians based on some bad experiences.
  9. In case anyone wants to see a comparison of the XBO and PS4: [http://i.imgur.com/MLPe57O.png](http://i.imgur.com/MLPe57O.png)
  10. > “lolwut?” > The teacher said what is 2+2 and Nook raised his hand and said France. A plateform like Microsoft would bring in more money per a user then Sony. So Sony shouldn’t have any issue and will adapt something similar (to steam) eventually? K…… Stick to thinking with your feelings. Mocking people ain't one of your strong points. Microsoft's alternative platform would give Microsoft more money per user. Not necessarily because it's more expensive for the users, but because the money flow is redirected. Companies like money. So why wouldn't Sony, also a company, do something similar to Microsoft's platform? Because consumer happiness is important here. Trying to get more money per customer is futile if the decision causes you to lose customers. By sticking to the "normal" ways, Sony has won the favor of many gamers. If people like your product, more people will buy it. More buyers means mo' money. Would you rather get $4 from 10 people or $3 from 15 people? Of course, the irony is that both companies initially lose money from their consoles. It is a big gamble with the hope that the losses suffered will eventually pay off. > What are you doing man!? Buying used Produce from a grocery store? We’re talking about used products! Stay on track. Your comparison of 300% for produce is not only off topic but also (and again) highly exaggerated . > > /facepalm > > They provide **different services**. They charge **different prices** because of this, **despite some overlap** on merchandise. Doesn't take critical thinking to figure out what I meant. > > Your pawn shop argument is terribly flawed because pawn shops are primarily a lending service.**This is why they give so little money.**You give them an item for collateral, they give you a little quick cash for it, and it becomes your job to pay them back plus interest. If you pay them back on time you get your item back. > > > > Please show me where I said I look forward to it. Or did you make an assumption? > > There is nothing wrong with using insecurities to tell if someone is telling the truth about a product. We do it every day and not with just insecurities and not just products. > > "body language means allot to me… Where if I ask them what they like...and they insecurely defend it..." > "Where [on Eclipse] [so and so] would just spout out facts … especially interesting when you think of the people on these debate boards" > "Things like insecurity and avoidance or so much easier to see IRL. And I personally abuse this....." > -you > > Semantics. Subsitute _look forward to_ with _enjoy. Y_ou yourself admitted to it with negative connotation. If it helps you sleep to picture people on the debate boards as insecure nerds with their petty facts that you could win against IRL, so be it. You're the one who made yourself look like a tool, not me. > > You're right when you say we all read body language. We don't, however, all use a person's confidence as the determinate for truth. Facts are facts regardless of how a person feels about them or himself. We also don't all exploit others for being insecure. That's just crappy personality. > > > > Oh? The whole …. Your opinion versus mine where you stop using facts or examples and just go to indirectly insulting. Isn’t it just as easy to say the exact same thing to you? > > > > You can believe I’m used to a narrow perspective or comfortably ignorant . But that might just mean you are used to a narrow perspective or comfortably ignorant. > > > > It is not narrow minded to seek wholesome video game news from multiple sources. > > > > It is not ignorant to be aware of how narrow Gamestop's news is and how much more information exists out there. > > > > I'm sure I'm narrow minded and ignorant about a lot of stuff, but this isn't one of them. How about a legitimate response instead of fishing for ways to turn it around on me? > > > > > > > Awww… You poor thing… I had no real problems with them. Sorry you did…. A lot of people with bad personalities have problems with them. > > > > Resorting to mockery after you're wrong? Classy. Just accept defeat and get on with it like an adult. > > > > > > > > > I never said people don’t have a legitimate reason. Don't be so retarded as to act like you have been to every gamestop or even mine. Where mine offers great customer service, which sucks for you. > > > Let me make something clear. I'm not arguing against video game stores. I'm arguing against the stick of a company that is Gamestop. If the dude behind the counter at your Gamestop is a bro, great. That doesn't change the fact that the company as a whole practices bad business. So many people fall victim to ripoffs, failed promises, and shitty service because at Gamestop, the customer doesn't have to come first. > > > > > > A lot of us consider that unacceptable. If you're fine with it, then wonderful. Doesn't make it any less of a craphole. The haters will shop elsewhere. > > > > > > If you want to continue this conversation, please PM me rational responses explaining how I'm wrong. We're pretty off topic here.
  11. You can't get away with duplicating the back and front animation. Our arms don't swing parallel to our body. Our shoulders favor the front of our bodies. Therefore, both views are different. Move the shoulders up on the back view and give the arms a more natural swing towards the inside of his chest/abdomen. Don't let him swing his arms that far behind him. As of now you can actually see his hands overlap his back and that just looks weird.
  12. > Actually the other reason not would be money. Nah. From what I understand, a platform like Microsoft's would bring in more money per user than Sony's. Hence why I said all that really matters is consumer happiness. > I love how everyone complains about the money you get back for a used game. You know….. I'm no fan of going to a pawn shop and getting 10% on a toy I paid allot of money for. Are we going to start blaming the pawn shops for ruining the toy company? My other options would be selling it on line. I don't have to explain the many reasons people don't like on line shopping and selling. Or where ever! The point,is I don't have to choose to give the pawn shop my money. Same applies with Gamestop people. Your comparison of Gamestop and Pawn Shops is severely flawed. That's like saying it's okay for a grocery store to charge 300% for their produce because gas stations charge that much. > Actually I bought a new game from Walmart, it was broke when I opened. Wal-mart wouldn't take it back or replace it. I was talking to a Gamestop employee about it and the conversation ended in him taking the broken game that I spent 15 dollars on and giving me 6$ dollars for it. I did not complain. By broken do you mean scratched? Those are easily repaired. Gamestop buys scratched discs because they have a machine that cleans off the top layer, creating a working disc. They would have bought it with the intent to turn it around for profit. They do not operate out of kindness. I paid the local DVD store $4 to repair my broken Left 4 Dead 2 disc. Had I taken it to Gamestop, I would have gotten less than $10 for it and had to pay $40 to buy another used copy. Gamestop is shady. > It's not just a little information you get from there….. On top of the butt loads of money they spend on advertising there are other gamers inside too. Where I get to meet the person who calls himself Darkfireangelgodx (lol watch some loser take that as a username) or nook face to face.Something about body language means allot to me.... Where if I ask them what they like about a game or console and they insecurely defend it. You can tell. Where here Darkfiregodangelgodx would just spout out facts and all the positive things everyones says. Face time..... especially interesting when you think of the people on these debate boards.... Things like insecurity and avoidance or so much easier to see IRL. And I personally abuse this..... I talk to all the random people I meet in there from the college kids that are on break to the insecure little nerds living a single life iN their mothers basement. There's absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying the social aspect of it. That can be considered a bonus. I find it odd that exploiting people's insecurity is something you look forward to so much. > Sure there are other places to get info but none are as effective as Gamestop for me (when it comes to video games) If Gamestop is your best source of video game news, then you're either used to a narrow perspective or comfortably ignorant. If it's the latter, then there's no issue; that's just you. If it's the former, then Gamestop is only doing you a disservice. > and your whole 45 dollars for 5 dollars is just ridiculous exaggerated. So much so that it's hard for me to ignore and see the meaning of what you meant. No, I was not exaggerating. I'm speaking from experience. They offered me $5 for the Portal 2 that I had bought for $60 a few months earlier. They were selling used copies for $45. Don't be so retarded as to act like people don't have a legitimate reason to hate Gamestop. It is as profitable as it is thanks to bad business. They rip customers off, they have absolutely terrible customer service, and they force employees to hassle customers to buy more stuff. Not to mention other stuff like gift cards that expire, a reputation for douchey staff, and shady pre-order practices. It's okay if you like Gamestop. Gamestop is a great place if you're lazy/hasty/ignorant. Otherwise, it's a shithole that is surpassed in every category by nearly everywhere else.
  13. The legs are too short. Keep in mind that a fully extended arm reaches mid-thigh. Move the groin up a few pixels. The torso needs to pivot more as the arms swing.
  14. > Microsoft tried to be like Steam and failed. My point was that, no one will put a game on discount unless it has been out for awhile/not much hype and/or marketing. The only exception to this is bad marketing and management. > > I'm not supporting Microsoft by any means. I have always liked Sony more than them. Although, the 360 did manage to beat the Playstation 3. Tried? The console isn't even out yet dude. The DRM platform is _supposed_ to allow them to offer games at cheaper prices - or, at the very least, redirect the cash flow from places like Gamestop to the developers instead. > So lets say XB1 does it! Lets say XB1 starts taking the lead over the PS4, Is it possible PS4 could switch over to a slightly similar idea (trying to move the games to some steam like working) with their technology? Who knows!. I'll leave that wide open for jab's and punchs and sucker punches, but mostly for you guys to think on after reading the rest. My guess is they put all their eggs into one basket for PS4\. They have not only taken a huge butt rapping from pspGO, PS3, PSN hacking, and what ever else I could have forgot. The only reason not to is consumer happiness. If XB1's platform is successful, then you can bet Sony will adapt something similar eventually. > I have to say sounds like no one thought "What would it be like if GameStop was gone?" What would happen if Gamestop stopped trying to support MS so that PS4 did even better? I know everyone wants to look at Gamestop like this huge bad guy! "GAMSTP JIST R!PS U 0FF!!11!!" I personally find allot of information about videos games starting with Gamestop and the likes. Most people don't think a little public information justifies getting $5 for something they'll turn around and sell for $45.
  15. > Nook, you dislike the XBone? Yeah. I'm not too happy with it. Microsoft took one step forward and then two steps back imo.
  16. > The thing is, are they going to include discounts? I see lots of old games in the xbox marketplace at full launch price. Plus, if a game is 60 dollars in the us its 60 euros in europe, WHAT THE duck? Think of Steam. That's probably a little similar to the platform Microsoft is going for. So yes, discounts.
  17. Here are the rumored words of an anonymous Xbox One engineer in response to all the hate. >! >The thing is we suck at telling the story. The whole point of the DRM switch from disc based to cloud based is to kill disc swapping, scratched discs, bringing discs to friends house, trade-ins for shit value with nothign going back to developers, and high game costs. If you want games cheaper then 59.99, you have to limit used games somehow. Steam's model requires a limited used game model. >! >The thing is, the DRM is really really similar to steam… You can login anywhere and play your games, anyone in your house can play with the family xbox. The only diff is steam you have to sign in before playing, and Xbox does it automatically at night for you (once per 24 hours) >! >It's a long tail strategy, just like steam. Steam had it's growing pains at the beginning with all it's drm shit as well. […] For digital downloads steam had no real competition at the time, they were competing against boxed sales. At the time people were pretty irate about steam, (on 4chan too…) It was only once they had a digital marketplace with DRM that was locked down to prevent sharing that they could do super discounted shit. >! >Think about it, on steam you get a game for the true cost of the game, 5$-30$. On a console you have to pay for that PLUS any additional licenses for when you sell / trade / borrow / etc. If the developer / publisher can't get it on additional licenses (like steam), then they charge the first person more. […] If we say "Hey publishers, you limit game to 39.99, we ensure every license transfer you get 10$, gamestop gets 20$" that is a decent model… Microsoft gets a license fee on first and subsequent game purchases, compared to just first now? That's a revenue increase. >! >Competition is the best man, it helps drive both to new heights. See technology from the Cold War. If we had no USSR, we'd be way worse off today. TLDR: Bring it on Steam :) >! 2/4 >! >Yeah we passed that around the office at Xbox. Most of us were like "Well played Sony, Well played". That being said they are just riding the hype train of ZOMG THEY ARE TRYING TO duck US FOR NO REASON. Without actually thinking about how convienent it would be for the majority of the time to not find that disc your brother didn't put back... […] just simpleminded people not seeing the bigger picture. Some PS4 viral team made them all "U TOOK R DISCS" and they hiveminded. >! >Everyone and their mother complains about how gamestop ducks them on their trade ins, getting 5$ for their used games. We come in trying to find a way to take money out of gamestop, and put some in developers and get you possibly cheaper games and everyone female dogs at MS. Well, if you want the @#$@ing from Gamestop, go play PS4. >! >The goal is to move to digital downloads, but Gamestop, Walmart, Target, Amazon are KIND OF ducking ENTRENCHED in the industry. They have a lot of power, and the shift has to be gradual. Long term goal is steam for consoles. […] If you always want to stay with what you have, then keep current consoles, or a PS4\. We're TRYING to move the industry forwards towards digital distribution… it'sa bumpy road >! >Publishers have enourmous power. Microsoft is trying to balance between consumer delight, and publisher wishes. If we cave to far in either direction you have a non-starting product. WiiU goes too far to consumer, you have no 3rd party support to shake a stick at. PS4 is status-quo. XB1 is trying to push some things, at the expense of others. We have a vision, we'll see if it works in the coming years >! >Living room transformation. We want to own the living room. Every living room TV with an XBox on input one. It's the thing that gives the signal to your TV, everything is secondary. The future, where games, TV, internet telephony, all that shit happens magically on some huge ass screen with hand / voice gestures... That's our goal. >! 3/4 >! >Google TV + PS4 + Minority report level gestures, that combined with a sick second screen experience (which is really hot for TV, I know I know.. tv tv tv tv tv... but it's ducking sick when you have it). Games will be the same, there are more exclusives to MS then PS atm, and Kinect 2 makes Kinect 1 look like a childs toy. >! >By default it's on, listening for "Xbox On". You can turn it off tho, and turn the console like OFF off. OFF off is required for Germany / other countries that require it (no vampire appliances) […] It has to be plugged in for the console to post. You can turn off everything it does from the settings. Think of it like airplane mode for the iPhone. You can't just unplug the cellular radio, but you can turn it off. >! >Instead of 10mins, is 24hrs for your console, and 1 or 2 at a friends house. Really the majority of people have a speck of internet at least once a day. And if you don't. Don't buy an Xbox 1\. Just like if you didn't have a broadband connection don't get Live, and if you don't have an HDTV the 360 isn't that great for you either. New tech, new req. This allows us to do cool shit when we can assume things like you have a kinect, you have internet, etc. >! >Current plan is basically you're ducked after 24 hours. Yeah… I know. Kind of sucks. I believe they will probably revist the time period and / or find a diff way to "call in" to ensure you haven't sold your license to gamestop or something... but there is no plan YET. I'm hoping the change it, but I don't work on that so I don't have much influence there /sigh >! >If the power goes out you ain't playing shit. I'm assuming you mean the internet goes out but you have power for TV and Xbox. Yes, You're ducked for single player games. Again, that's the PoR (Plan of record), but I expect it to change after the e3 clusterfuck >! >What fee? There is no fee to play your games at your friends house. Never has, never will. Even x360 digital downloads could do that. >! 4/4 >! >The cloud capabilities is the shit they like the most. We basically made a huge cloud compute shit and made it free. What people are doing with it is kind of cool. THe original intention was to get all the Multiplayer servers not requiring 3rd party costs (Like EA shutting down game servers to cut costs), as well as taking all the games that servers hosted by the clients (Halo, etc), and have all that compute done in the cloud allowing more CPU cycles for gameplay. That will really expand what developers can do. Anything that doesn't need per frame calculation and can handle 100ms delays can be shifted to the cloud. That's huge. >! >SmartGlass + IE is going to be pretty freaking sweet. 1 finger cursor, 2 finger direct manip. Basically if you think of a laptop trackpad where your phone/ slate is the trackpad and the monitor is your TV... it's that. The tech is there, just needs to be applied. There is some really cool shit going on with Petra + controllers that pairs people with controllers. So if person with controller two trades controlers with controller 1, their profiles magically switch. It's sick. What does this matter? Now if you lean left/right it knows which person is leaning, even if 4 people are all int he same room. It's awesome. >! >New service using Azure for cloud compute. Allows developers to not use clients for hosting multiplayer servers, or other tasks that do not require per frame calcuations. It's pretty sweet. >! >Honestly, if you care about anything other then pure games AT ALL. Xbox 1 > PS4\. If all you do is play games, and nothing else, PS4. >! This was all from the Microsoft engineer that was on /b/ last night. >! >It's not worth my time to prove it, or risk my Job. I work in Studio A, 40th ave in Redmond, Wa. The thai place in the studio cafeteria has double punch wednesdays. Go ahead and call them and verify if you want.
  18. Microsoft hasn't forgotten the anti-DRM offline single-players. They have a solution. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxkEe_l7S3g](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxkEe_l7S3g)
  19. Update to my last statement: Microsoft has confirmed the Kinect can be turned off… when not using the Xbox. An "unplug-everything" button, so to speak. Kinect is still required be on in order for you to play a game or watch a movie. After 5 years of loyal Xbox service, I too will be making the switch. Sony slaughtered Microsoft at the E3\. GG MS > Privacy is a thing of the past. The government will soon monitor everything. It is no longer a cospiracy theory. ;) "A conspiracy theory is an explanatory proposition that accuses a person, group or organization of having caused or covered up an event or phenomenon of great social, political, or economic impact." Nope. Still a conspiracy theory.

    A logo i made

1\. Get rid of the background. Logos are independent. It's not independent if it requires a black block behind it. 2\. I'm guessing you worked on one layer and used the paint bucket to turn a white background into a black one with low tolerance? Whatever caused it doesn't matter. Get rid of that nasty, scratchy white outline. 3. Get some good color variety up in that bit ch. Gradients, outlines, etc. Something other than pure white on pure black. 4\. Random blood-like splatter =/= aesthetic creativity. All it does is scream I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING. It makes the final product lopsided and grotesque. Get rid of it. 5\. The fancy font calls for variety. Maybe the font gets bigger on the edges? Maybe the first letter is bigger? Maybe it breaks up into two lines? Maybe there's a symbol thrown into the mix? I don't know, just do _something_ with it. One-size one-line font like that is bland as hell. Remember: a logo is a design, not a pretty word. 6\. Get some anti-alias up in that bit ch. 7\. If the logo can be made in Microsoft Word, it's not a logo. Point is… scrap it and start over. Don't be discouraged, however. You just need to practice. Go do a few tutorials over fancy text. You'll learn some valuable skills that you can come back and use on a new attempt. If you do that, I guarantee you'll make something much better. The internet is your friend. [Here's a starting place to look for tuts.](http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=text+effect+tutorial)
  21. > Xbox one is always on eh. They must have put a ton of money into designing a console that cannot be unplugged. Are you suggesting that's excusable? A console shouldn't force you to unplug it just to turn a mandatory mic and camera off.
  22. Let's not forget that the mandatory Kinect is _always on_. The microphone, at the very least, is always listening. That's an especially comforting thought when you consider the all the recent PRISM NSA stories and how Microsoft was one of the first corporate partners to sign up it. In other words… the XBOX ONE _could_ double as a government surveillance device for your home! _/puts on tinfoil hat_
