DrNova
I got SO lucky.I made a backup copy of my project the DAY BEFORE my computer had a complete and utter meltdown. It died completely, as in nothing could be done except format.I just went down today and got a new computer (which has vista, dammit..)Huge sigh of releif though.REMEMBER TO MAKE BACKUPS PEOPLE!If I would have lost all the work I did, I would have been SO mad..The downside, I dont have my copy of VB 6 anymore :(But at least StarJumper survived
Gwen
I know how you feel!Whats worse is when you backup your stuff to another hard drive and that hard drive fails!!!!!all my pics, music, games…. they all went bye bye :(

shadowwulf
$1215 for a desktop?wow… You could have built a waaaay better pc for 600 or less...My mom did that, bought two pcs from rent to own deal, ended up paying 2 grand a piece, they are like Dell $300 model... just put 45 away each week or something, then in 10 weeks order from dell/gateway/HP/acer/toshiba... lolnot trying to start a fight or anything... just saying i think that rent to own is pointless....I really liked the furniture at this one place... so i bought it... had to make 5 moths of payments but then paid it in full... so i got a couch, loveseat, end tables, kitchen table w/4 chairs... all for like 1k

shadowwulf
yeah. and whats funny is some places will want to scan you laptop, like for business visits and stuff, but then you go, "i have a Mac" and they are all like ok and ignore scanning… then you open up your XP-Virus-Infected Mac and destroy their network... all they know... it wasnt the Mac guy!
