3D Robot Project

Hi, I have been working on a 3D Robot Project where I had to design my own robot from scratch, I've done sketches, concepts, poses and alot more, I've finally ready to present it to touchofdeathforums. I will still be working on improving a few things, I've already got an idea for a scene, sadly I can't find the mockup and I'll probably have to make it again.

Finished Pictures:

I know what you mean, the textures are extremely bad, but it was more because of the deadline I was given at the time, I myself also think my sketches looks better and the final model need to look more like the sketches, I should have made the upper body bigger and maybe put the arms a little away from the body.

Yeah, the body should be bigger for sure. Also, look at the legs… :/

You are not funny, I actually take everyones responses as serious critic, saying it looks like a dog standing is just directly provoking me.

Could you give me some useful critics to make it better then than just telling me that it doesn't look like a robot to you at all

And I like the retarded arm and the few shapes as that is what I intended to create from the start, everything have to have shapes and some kind of arm, if you think it is retarded then that is fine, but I would like to know what that makes you think it is retarded.

Well, it seems completely out of place, the robot seems short and stumpy, deformed as if it's using that huge arm for support.

It looks as if it would have to jump as it walked, like a guy on cruches.

Maybe if you made the bulky arm the same as the small arm, or even just shorter, and a little less bulky.

Also, it doesn't have any knees, that makes it a lot less believable, and mean, how does it walk with no knees, it clearly has feet?

Finally, the texturing looks like a carpet.

How many robots are mad eof carpet?

Maybe if you made it looks as if it would plates of metal bolted together, that would be a lot better.

Robots doesn't have to be logical to be robotic, ever watched the animation movie called Robots? This is how I designed my robot, even though it wouldn't work well practically moving, it is still designed to be a robot.

And I've already said that the texture was rushed, but I didn't intend to make it to look like carpet… Not plates either.

Regarding the big arm, I did it on purpose to make a gigantic arm as it should work as a bodyguard using the big arm as shield while having a weak looking arm work as an offensive weapon, the weak arm can only move in the Y-axis, but can grap and hold onto stuff, I wanted to make a specially designed gun for it too, but ended up not to because of the deadline. I also though a little on the movement even though the robot didn't need to move, I though of it to be a little gorilla like, but then the legs come in and making that will probably look weird, but since it was only designed to be as a render I leaved it as is.
