Well, N/R is more the softcore, NC-17 is just a great T&A movie

R means you have to have an adult with you if you are under 18\. Most theaters wont let you in a movie after dark even if you have a parent.

NC17 means that if you are under 17 you cant get in AT ALL.

XXX = hard core porn…. usually showing penetration.
X = soft core.... I think showing genetils and sexual acts, but no penetration.

NC17 and X are basically the same i believe.
