Dark Crusade
Alright, so we've yet to show off an NPC. Since NPC sprite development is picking up nicely, I've decided to reveal the 'style' of our NPCs, with a preview of a wolf sprite. Currently there are only 3 NPCs completed (wolf, bat, crab), as NPCs is one of the last tasks to do with exception of mapping._Enjoy. 24x24._![](http://i49.tinypic.com/2z7pds9.gif)_Enjoy. 24x24\. Resized to 200%, and recoloured for viewing purposes._![](http://i45.tinypic.com/2ce2is9.gif)Check out Elandor Chronicles!http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/board,459.0.html
Anna Comnena
Looks good, but I think some more tail sway is needed. :)
Dark Crusade
After having a good look at it myself, theres two edits I think I'm yet to make. The tail as you've pointed out, and his foot when it stretches back looks a bit awkward.
Anna Comnena
The front leg's foot you mean? Yeah I think it looks ok, it does stretch or distort a little bit, but I think it's acceptable as motion exaggeration.
ddunit
Looks very nice, and the thing you could make better were said. Although the fur sticking out on top of him could move a bit more if he's running like that. Also, will there be bears?![](http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_osrVjnPbdEM/S0SJODQnwUI/AAAAAAAATXs/_pDSz2_O3Wo/s400/Polar_Bear_Attack_1.jpg)![](http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_osrVjnPbdEM/S0SJa8mnAOI/AAAAAAAATX0/S78LgimB6ZA/s400/Polar_Bear_Attack_2.jpg)![](http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_osrVjnPbdEM/S0SJhXcZ0oI/AAAAAAAATX8/8vZpvZX1X3s/s400/Polar_Bear_Attack_3.jpg)![](http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_osrVjnPbdEM/S0SJlvOJkvI/AAAAAAAATYE/fCNDt3T4nKA/s400/Polar_Bear_Attack_4.jpg)

Dark Crusade
Yeah, getting all the basic npcs out of the way at the moment, generic wildness creatures like bears, wolves, wasps, bats, crabs, etc.@[PIE:> ICT link=topic=61426.msg648214#msg648214 date=1276359470]> Looks good Beau. guzmanm
@Kreator:> ![](http://i45.tinypic.com/2ce2is9.gif)Whats wrong with the tail?
Dark Crusade
Are people expecting the tail to fling up in the air? Have any of you guys even seen a wolf run? They keep their tail-bone straight, and thus their tail doesn't chuck a fuck when they run.
Anna Comnena
Wait is it just me or does the animation in Guzman's quote look like a different animation from the OP post?:huh:Wait no it is the same image; it looks somewhat different on a dark background than a white background. I think it looks good.

balliztik1
@Im_Mad_1337:> @Kreator:> > > Pixel by Pixel, in MS Paint.> > Holy **** thats even more amazing then I thought. *idolized*Lol xDSomething tells me you're new to the 2D MMO scene. All the pixel art is drawn out by hand. Then again, given that 99% of Mirage-based games aren't fully custom, I suppose that's a merited response. Elandor Chronicles isn't going to skimp out though. We have 100% custom everything - graphics, music, storyline, setting, engine. If we're going to make a game, we're going to do it right.Good to have a fan of our graphics though. If you fancy a gander at Beau's amazing work, check out the http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?board=459.0 board, particularly the preview threads. I think you'll be equally amazed. Kreator had a series of tutorials some time ago.

It's like saying it's easy to learn painting, it's reasonably easy to learn the basics, and such. But, your going to have to put in a lot of time, dedication and effort to get good at it. Anything done at your caliber is much more than some basic shapes and dithering. I'll rephrase that comment, You can learn to do anything, but you'll still have to practice to be good at it. Lord knows I'm not nearly as good as you in pixel art yet.
