Carim123
I don't think that those who need a tutorial on correctly installing CSDE should be using CSDE…

Zetasis
Also, you can just right click the .vbp file and select make. This will make the .exe without having to open vb6.

Casper
yeah I did that. Then i unistalled everything and repeated. No change.I think it might be a problem with the library files, but when installing them i now have a new problem. the install_eo_runtimes.exe dissapears when i try to open it. Robin
Did you install VB6 SP6?
Casper
yep using the link you provided
Robin
If you installed VB6, VB6 SP6 and the runtimes then you will have Winsock registered. If you don't you've done it wrong or you're using something stupid like Windows Vista.
Casper
then its definitely the run time files.I have been using the old Eclipse Evolution Library files which obviously wont work, but when I realised this and attempted to install the new ones the .exe dissapears when i run it.And yes I have followed the steps in your guide, including the running as admin. If this isnt something youv heard of before its probably my computer, in which case thanks for your help but dont worry about it, my computer has….issues. Robin
You can't install the runtimes? Should have said that in the first bloody place. If the EXE disappears then you've probably got an over-zealous anti-virus like Norton. Turn it off.
Casper
yeah thanks for the help. I cannot turn the virus protection software off as this is my dads work computer and only the admins at his work can control it.Not much I can do then, ill let you get back to your life. Robin
You cannot develop a game on a computer you don't have administrator privileges on.
Casper
yeah its more complicated than that, i have full administrative privileges of everything other than the anti-virus program
Robin
If you've got an anti-virus which is going to forcibly remove an installation program which is required to even open my project then you don't have enough administrator privileges to make a game. Casper
understood.I kno its not the ideal situation using a computer I dont even own, but its the best ive got.I can still fully use Eclipse Origins, somehow, so I can just enjoy playing around with that. thanks robin
Jacquelinett
:Owait… are you using Eclipse Origin runtime? o.OIf you are, switch to Crystalshire's Runtime ;) to get it, download crystalshire and install it
