Shoutbox

It seems that the community is split in terms of the chatbox being available everywhere. We included a hide feature specifically for those who didn't like seeing it where ever they went. If this isn't enough, this poll is to get to a final decision on if the chatbox remains everywhere or not.  It ends on Monday which is 4 days from now.

IMO, the chatbox should stay on the main forum page,  but I don't mind the chatbox everywhere

I think an option to disable it outside the forum front page should be considered.

We had this feature a couple years back. Most people did not like it.

While we want to help as many people as possible with their problems, usually a lot of problems people have can not directly be addressed in the chat box, even if we would like to help as quickly as possible, troubleshooting can fill up the chat box, while it is not always a problem, it usually becomes easier to organize and troubleshoot in a thread, as well for archiving purposes and references.

There are cases where it is for the most part better to ask in the chat box, of course, but usually then, a quick search helps them more, and quicker. The option to disable the chat box on every page would be helpful in my option.

I know I've seen forums that always had the shoutbox there, but it was put to the bottom of pages except for the forum and shoutbox pages, maybe this would help? When not on the forum page then the shoutbox appears on the bottom of the page?
