Yea it looks nice, clean and simple style. However, the dark green on the leaves looks more like vines or ivy than shading.
  2. @Zombie,Azyru, Thanks! @Jungletoeâ„¢: > Knowing the context of the banner may help us. What are you making it for? > > The new one is better in my opinion. I like the lazers/racing stripes. Well, no specific purpose for the banner, nor theme. I was trying out some techniques with a goal of achieving a crimson(ish) banner and sort of a darker feel (demonic? Not the word I want, too extreme). Kinda designed it as if it were a forum signature banner or site banner. IF anyone wants to throw some text or images on them and use these for themselves feel free. Just let me know.
  3. I prefer the darker blue eclipse theme. I find it easier on my eyes, especially since I use a 40" tv for a monitor and sit 3 feet away…
  4. Alright, I added the stripes. Took awhile, and I'm still not happy with the way they turned out. Just couldn't quite make it look right. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v73/Redstarco/red3.gif)
  5. Yea, the sand tile looks repetitive, but creating a separate for top and bottom, as batman said, should help with that. Not much yet to judge, but best of luck with your project.
  6. Thoughts, opinions, CC. Just messing around with some banner designs. Can't decide which style I like more. 7. The world is full of different types of people. Some types of people are more prevalent than others, especially social trends. Now with mass media, such as the internet, television and even radio, these abnormal trends are bombarded in your face. The people who are born into a life in a "ghetto", are born into this culture. They know no different and become trapped in a perpetual circle. People who adopt this culture are no different than for example an American youth with a Japanese obsession, a self described goth, or a skin head. Rap is a form of music, some of it is great, some of it is poor. This has very little to do with the culture of being "hard" or "street". The people in which this culture has originated from have very little blame for people being this way. It's the impressionable flocks of sheep in the western world that spend more effort being what they are not, buying into new "trends", ect. There will be idiots in all steps of life. Due to safety nets installed by being a civilized nation it doesn't matter how far you fall from the tree, you'll still land on your feet. This, combined with the power of mass media and the impressionable masses, creates a pool of ever growing morons. This pool will continue to grow, and very little will curb this. There are reports out there that western civilization is declining. One way to curb this decline is to yourself, take the reins of the sleigh and steer it another way. Be proud of your own heritage, your own culture, and make it "cool". Is this possible? I don't know. Is it within our power? Debatable.

However, your mock up option 1 seems more functional having space between the buttons. I think it would matter as well where the bars are positioned. I feel that the solid bar would look better if it were in use at the bottom of the screen, while the way you have it now with option 1 at the top looks better for that style. > > > > I'm not really sure which I like more, they both look good. There's actually the same amount of spacing between the 32x32 spaces the buttons take. Also if you look carefully I didn't even remove the divider spaces while doing the edit. =D I had planned to redo the more popular of them. So yeah the "space" between the buttons is an illusion. Yea, I know what you mean. Just that illusion of space just feels more functional. But I do prefer option 2\.

Eh, hard for me to decide. On its own I think that option 2 looks more appealing. I'm more in favour of the sleek option 2, however I don't think it would look as well in use.
  10. i don't mind spiders, however..if they move faster than I can follow with my eyes, or jump, they must die.
  11. Ok, I don't understand this. I tried playing this game because it seems to popular. I gave it a good 4hour run, got to level 20ish. All you end up doing it mashing one button contiously going between areas until you're strong enough to go to the next area. There is no story, which is fine, but there's no exploring really to be done. It's just linear going from area to area. Is there something I'm missing that makes this fun? Or what…I don't understand the fascination with it. Half the time you're followed by someone with, what they think is cool armor. Trying to impress you with their "awesome damage"... And then a bunch boys hitting on you because you're sprite is a girl..."hey baby".
  12. @jeff yea, I suppose you're right, no light source is necessary(depends on your situation, some people may use physical halos.), can't really think of the term I want to use to describe it. It just seems flat compared to the character.
  13. Much better, nice and trimmed. But it's not to say your other classes were boring. And a suggestion, if you wanted to integrate others into your game you could always have a class tree. Something where you could progress to a more specialize form of a base class. Anyways, the list now is much more tame.
  14. You're doing well. It takes a while to define your own style. I personally liked the house without the stone face, as well the roof seems better before. It did come off a bit flat but now it just doesn't look practical. I'd suggest not having so much "Y" of the tree exposed. Looks odd, as it all the trees are throwing their hands up, "don't chop me!". Tree some shading on the tree to give the leaves a more round effect.
  15. Halo has no established light source or bevel. Looks like static, or scrambled.
  16. Do you plan to have all 12 classes? Maybe considering combining or dropping some. Maybe a class tree. I find it's overwhelming for the player to have a large selection of classes, especially in the beginning. Aside from that the balancing load on the designer to make 12 classes each unique and useful. Nothing sucks more than having a game with class options where one class will dominate due to a poor balance. Good luck with your project.
  17. Don't know if you need it but I find using a colour grid more effective then a line grid. Some people prefer two colours, I use this, then fill the square with a pink for background colour. Feel free to use it, don't know if you were looking for anything. >! ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v73/Redstarco/smalltemplate.png)
  18. It comes in as a pink or magenta to me.
  19. Without some kind of force in the gel and fridge frame to maintain the sleek shape of the gel, in a matter of days it will look like a half eaten bowl of jello.
  20. @Kusy: > @Microwave: > > > I don't know if you have but I've yet to see a 2 dimensional object work in real life… > > Beaing a smartass doesn't get people too far. While I agree, I was simply pointing out the redundancy in stating the impracticality of fantasy 2 dimensional image, using a smart ass reply.
  21. I was not implying it has been stolen, nor that you intend to claim the work as your own. I was simply stating the if you were to at any point claim the tree, even in it's final stages as yours, you'd be stealing. NOT saying that you have or will. Just more of a reminder that no matter what you do it is still not your work. In regards to the rest of my post if it does not seem relevant, i was stating my opinion that the quality and effort put into the edit of this tree is minimal. The tree lacks a definition which takes away from a 3d effect and when used with a tile set will cause it to merge into a flat image. There is nothing making this tree special, or unique.
