  1. Looks great happy to see that you all are still working on this.
  2. Use one image. The changer images are not the best quality.
  3. I never really believed the world would end in May, however who knows if it does end lets hope atleast one of us can release a game by then.
  4. >! ![](http://i53.tinypic.com/1z4lcig.jpg) Up Late.
  5. The arms of the 2D Sprite that utilizes all four directions need more fluid movements, I recommend you move the arm forwards and backwards in a three frame motion.
  6. To be honest its the hind legs. Aside from the length of the cats torso which needs to be extended, the line of the hind thigh is too long it makes the cats back legs look to much longer than its front legs. While the skeleton of a cats back legs are longer than its front, when fur and flesh is applied the you should not see a significant difference. Refer t my picture for help, I use anatomy pics when I pixel animals. >! ![](http://catladygeek.com/images/catskeleton.jpg) >! Some old work I did hope it helps. ![](http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d200/xRobotvsmonkeyx/LNOWolf-1.png) ![](http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d200/xRobotvsmonkeyx/Myversion.png)
  7. A standard RPG map, I like it. If only everyone could find nice Tilesets and map like you these EO games would like a whole lot nicer.
  8. I like the new look, very professional and the new theme makes me want to stay on the Forum much more haha. :P
  9. Im not a Mod or anything, but for the sake of organization do yall think that you could refrain from posting useless things in here. If you want to tell Robin thank you, PM him or donate. Your useless posts prevent most members from seeing progression posts such as screenshots Robin had posted earlier, etc. If you a have a question about Origins, I am sure there is an appropriate section for them to be addressed. Thanks
  10. I like the concept of the project. In terms of game play are we looking at a RTS or more so decision making, or player to player combat?
  11. @.Aaron.: I added that to the description. If any of you have any other program feel free to PM me or post the links with a description here, I feel like these programs can definitely help any developer.
  12. @[THE-KRIS: > link=topic=67090.msg724373#msg724373 date=1293092963] > this is a bit of a boring thread… > > Post your age and you're done... > > Maybe we should extend the question? > **Thread Purpose Fulfilled** :icon_beer: > @Draken: > > > @Robin: > > > > > This thread is kind of surprising. I assumed most of you were 12\. xD > > > > just because we act 12 doesnt mean we are. Its easyer to get younger women that way lol :renzo:
  13. **Featured Software** I wanted to start working on my art again, so I decided to share some software that has helped my in the past in my fields of art. **Image Generation and Manipulation** **[GIMP](http://www.gimp.org/)** GIMP is a feature-rich image manipulation software; the poor-man's alternative to Photoshop. Use GIMP for layers, masking, photo manipulation, image generation, and more! Open source code makes this program entirely free to use. Paint, create, and manipulate. Create your beautiful digital art with this unique tool. **[Rendera](http://sourceforge.net/projects/rendera/)** A powerful painting program offering a variety of tools for the digital painter. **[FaceOnBody](http://www.faceonbody.com/)** FaceOnBody is a program designed for mixing and matching faces and bodies. **[Dogwaffle](http://www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/free/)** Dogwaffle is a free painting and animation program for people who love to draw, sketch, animate and paint. **3D Graphics** **[Autodesk Maya](http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=7639525)** Maya is the powerful 3D digital arts studio used by the pros. You can have this incredible and super expensive 3D image and animation studio in your hands at no cost to you! Maya Personal Learning Edition (PLE) is a special version of Autodesk Maya software, which provides free access to Maya for non-commercial use. This is no dinky trial. Nearly all of the superb features of the commercial version are included. The learning curve is high, but the results are well worth the effort. **[Blender 3D](http://www.blender.org/)** Blender 3D is an incredible free tool for creating three dimensional models, images, and animations. As well as a game engine. Great for 3D game dev. **[Wings 3D](http://www.wings3d.com/)** Wings 3D is a powerful subdivision modeler for building static three dimensional images. **[Sketch Up](http://sketchup.google.com/)** Want some sketchup on that digital burger? No specific knowledge is needed to use this program, it is a program that can be run just for fun! **Other** Simply a compile of other free materials. More to come. **Anitvirus** I used Norton for many years and it was the best thing available until it got too big for its britches. Now it's a hulking resource hog that fails to get the job done. That's ok, though, because the better alternative is free, unlike Norton with those obnoxious subscription fees. Keep your computer well protected and virus definitions up to date with these two better-than-Norton titles! **[Avast! 4Home Antivirus](http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html)** It is the opinion of the makers of avast! that the best way to protect their big paying customers is to prevent viruses from spreading at the individual level. There is no better way to accomplish that than to offer your product free to the little guy while charging corporations and organizations the big bucks. This is no piddly open-source hackjob; avast! is the real deal and the best thing going to keep your computer virus free! **[AVG Free](http://free.grisoft.com/)** Working under a similar philosophy as the avast! people, AVG is a fully loaded anti-virus title free to the little guy. You can get a few more bells and whistles with the paid version, but the free version essentially does the same job as far as anti-virus protection goes. While you're there, pick up their free anti-spyware program and their free anti-rootkit program to maximize the health of your computer. **PDF converter** The best way to share documents and similar files that may change appearance in different programs or even different versions of the same program is to share them as pdf files. PDF files are WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) and you'll never lose information or have your friends see trash where you made treasure when you share your precious documents in pdf format. Write pristine tutorials with all of your illustrations intact no matter who opens it! **[PDF995](http://www.pdf995.com/)** Don't bother paying hundreds of dollars for Adobe's converting software, you can get it all that functionality free. It installs as a printer driver, so anytime you want to save an item as a pdf file, it's as simple as clicking your print button, which will bring up a save box so you can title your new file. For the free version, an ad will pop up, but if you want to skip the ad, the ad-free version is $9.95 ($19.95 for the entire suite of pdf software including security and pdf editing features). That beats the hundreds of dollars you'd have to pay for Adobe's software. I have some more links, however I have to work on something real quick.
  14. The three tutorials included in the link are not the most detailed however they illustrate some basic work in terms of Pixel art. I will keep uploading more good tutorials I find. **Google is truly your best friend but I know I hate looking for good/bad tutorials.** **Lastly non of these tutorials are made by me** [Basic Base/Item/Environment Tutorial](http://www.vbgore.com/Pixel_Art_Tutorials) [Shading Tutorial](http://www.natomic.com/hosted/marks/mpat/shading.html) [Compilation of Tutorials: Warning-Long Read](http://www.petesqbsite.com/sections/tutorials/tuts/tsugumo/) [Seamless Tile Tutorial](http://mistraal.wordpress.com/2008/04/19/tileset-tutorial-english/) [Simple Animation Tutorial](http://www.manningkrull.com/pixel_art/tutorials/walking.asp) [**HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:** Master List O' Tutorial](http://www.thespriterszone.com/spritingtutorials.htm)
  15. It all depends on how you like it. When I was younger I was a fan of piercing, I think it looks reasonable good on you man. I cant see the piercing clearly but I see the placement, hopefully you just get the ball stud, I dont really like any of the other studs out there.
