Updated OP with some minor changes, and a picture of a hatchet. (expect a real axe soon!)

imo, the roofs are too similar to the ground.

I'm dissapointed by the entries, most were pretty lame. Die and Kreator were my picks. Die did a good job of creating interesting town elements, and Kreator had the best looking map, but I didn't see a lot of interesting technique. Zetasis also had a cool map, but it was bland besides his tiles.

> Oh contrar' (probably didn't spell that right…) > > The hilts on the swords are too wide, except for the third sword. Hilts are almost never the same width as a blade, unless you've got a thinner one, like a katana, and your swords are more or less modeled after the classical European style. I see what you mean. I'll get on that. > The 3rd and 5th weapon from the left doesn't look as good as the rest in my opinion, think it has to do with the jaggy outline. The spear on the far right I dunno if I can make look much better, as the point is very small. I'll try changing the color of part of the outline. As for the sword, I think I can make the shading a little bit more accurate. Good catch with that.

I need some advice on how I should shape my game's gameplay…
Jeff replied to SawQuart's topic in Discussion
I really liked where it was going earlier. Expand on the ancient americas thing. Maybe let people make tribes. Just make a rich experience with what you had earlier and it won't be too much like any game. Really I think making more focus on combat would detract from its uniqueness, as most games focus on combat. Disclaimer: I read the OP only and didn't read any replies. -

Inspired by the beautiful weapons of Final Fantasy tactics.

>tfw your neck is as big as your face This is in off-topic, so I guess I shouldn't critique. If you want me to I can though.

> This looks like a fun game. Can't wait to see how it turns out in the end. > Yeah same, looks like a fantastic game imo. Haha, I get it, it's funny because they're the developers

I'd post a picture, but it's just a laptop and a bed.

> …So..I made the another tile.I failed at the tile,i will make another tomorrow, I am tired tonight.I will show the tile anyway so: > > ![](http://i48.tinypic.com/x5csgi.png) Phew xD . At least you tried something a little different.

> ![](http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mdta5bqZXK1qmy0coo1_500.png) I'm honestly not quite sure what the gray stuff is… stone I guess? Also, the fact that the items in the GUI bar are not evenly spaced bothers me.

> In the reference it did. It's just the angle he was at, but yeah, as I said, I am still learning and am not quite sure how to do skin tones real well yet. If that part of his beard was invisible, then it's likely that the subject's right eye would be slightly smaller than his left, and that his nose would protrude more noticably from his face. The beard/hair would also taper more gradually into nothingness. I don't think his right ear would be visible either. Can you post the reference?

> How about this tile? > > ![](http://i50.tinypic.com/16lbvyr.png) Doesn't seem like you followed the tutorial at all, looks like you just randomly clicked around. You still don't have enough contrast. Make the colors look more different from each other, the light shades lighter and the dark shades darker. You could boost up the saturation as well, and make it more green rather than gray.

> Intersante. > > Look's bein. ;p **Interessant. Looks bon. Nice try ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//tongue.png) As for the portrait, the main thing is the gloss like kusy said. In my opinion the hair looks fine, but on the left(viewer's view point) his beard disappears I don't think that that would happen quite like that.

> New grass tile: > > 6.![](http://i45.tinypic.com/30a84mc.gif) > > 7.![](http://i47.tinypic.com/1qfq5f.gif) This still needs more contrast. Right now, if you just squint your eyes a little it becomes uniform in color. [This](http://pixel-zone.rpgdx.net/shtml/tutmini-grass.shtml) is a decent tutorial, although I don't like the color or the finished product. It has the technique alright.

Needs more contrast and sharpness. Kind of just looks like a green blob right now.

I vote magical fantasy MMORPG dragon online. MFMDO. Try and make your name as generic as possible so more people will think they like it. Seriously though, those names are some of the worst possible names. Go with something unique, that actually has something to do with your game. Then again, "guild wars" and "world of warcraft" were hits and their names were shit. They had millions of dollars, so I guess that must help.

> @lttyBitties… why are you writing on every post shading bad bla bla bla... please do it better if you can > > PS. ive seen your sprites... (Too dark,,, too small not real looking no shading) The points are valid, that's all that matters. That said, Fuu is one of the better pixel artists on this forum, his sprites are some of the best I've seen here.

> some times game play is too hard to have cool downs and if u always lose do u think they will still wanna play that game? The game should be balanced so that you don't need to spam potions in order to survive.
