Blackjac
This is a rough draft of my World map that I have been messing with for a few days now. I'm not finished with it and would love some input on it. This is for my undisclosed game that I am working on. Anywhere there is land mass in this world map there will be a zone. It is based off the 30x30 grid so you can picture how many zone/area or whatever you call it.Here is my graphic paper version of my World map (note might be slightly different the the Eclipse Version)![](http://kosguild.100webspace.net/images/worldscanneddraft.jpg)Here is my Eclipse version of my World map![](http://kosguild.100webspace.net/images/worlddetaildraft.jpg)The cities on the map will be that big, small cities/towns will have a few merchants that will sell some upgrades. The cities of decent size will have more to offer. The captial city will have the most to offer. The boats on the map are mainly for decoration, However as you can see I drew this not only in the game but on graph paper (as well as my sketch book that I didn't upload the image). I do have 2 more continents drawn out on Sketch paper for expansions to my game. But for right now I'm focusing on this one island.

Lenton
World maps don't have to have much detail only the real in game maps. I think it's a decent world map, simple and easy to follow. I give it a 7/10.
Blackjac
I appreciate all the feedback that has been given. I agree with Alex that world maps shouldn't be overfilled with alot of stuff. Remember that I did say this world map was not finished, I plan on adding somemore to it as it looked plain, maybe some trees in the grassy areas. The reason I did the world map first is I think itis easier to work on making maps for the game when you have a overall map to look at and determine what you need there. Robin
It's impossible to get such a large amount of land completely bare. It's too straight as well. It's incredibly bad, I'm afraid.Go look up some references.![](http://www.bmvbs.de/Bild/original_965813/Aerial-view-of-a-village.jpg)![](http://www.co.orange.nc.us/soilwater/images/AerialPhoto_Farm.jpg)![](http://gowerconservatives.com/portal/images/stories/Aerial%20View%20Port%20Eynon.jpg)
Dark Crusade
The transitions, the shape of the world, the mixing of tilesets all look terrible. 1/
Steveo
Beautifully done!Ill give it 8/10Reminds me of some of the automatic maps I used to generate using a mapping tool (only works when you have 1 tileset)[![](http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/29/royaladventureworldmapeq6.th.jpg)](http://img515.imageshack.us/my.php?image=royaladventureworldmapeq6.jpg)
Robin
Why does that map have Sheffield in it? D:Last time I checked, Sheffield was a lot bigger than that xD
brutal
I think it looks pretty nice for a overall map for a game that hasn't been made yet, He cant predict where the trees are going to look best guys. He hasnt made the maps yet… 8/
Bobosk
i think it looks decent enough.. except a few things…1\. I don't really see a desert area having a dock..2\. There's quite a few decently sized blank areas... The biggest one that bothers me is the 1 furthest southwest inbetween those 2 towns3\. The mountains break for the roads.. and the whole northern area is snowy, which is kinda ok i guess, but i would think the whole area more being on a mountain, rather than being seperated from the rest of the continent by them.Other than those things, great world map ^^'
moz
I dont like it. it seems off scale i dont know if it sapose to be like that in a world map but usualy boats arent as big as mountains and grass just doesnt instantly chage to snow there needs to change gradualy4/
