  1. No, I have not changed anything in the source UPDATE : I cleaned out my internets temporary files, ran scans with Norton Antivirus 360 ( no viruses found) , which also had options to fix registry entries , etc….I did all that Then of course re booted computer, and then Post Nuke woked fine! Problem solved! The cause is still unknown, but fix is to do want I did above ( cleaned out my internets temporary files, ran scans with Norton Antivirus 360 ( no viruses found) , which also had options to fix registry entries , etc….I did all that, then re booted computer)
  2. A day or so ago Post Nuke crashed. It said something like, script out of range….I restarted the server and thought nothing of it, figuring it was just some stray bug or mapping error someone had made. But then I realized, NO ONE can log onto Post Nuke! Not even me! Server is running fine, PORT is same, and No-Ip service is set up right. And also, my other game I host, City of the Dead, is working fine, or at least I can log in. Here is the message everybody gets when they try to log into Post Nuke.... [![](http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/3603/youhavelostyourconnecti.jpg)](http://img258.imageshack.us/i/youhavelostyourconnecti.jpg/) Can anyone solve this please?

  4. I am presently making a game in EE 2.7 and went to use the bank and iscovered a difficult thing… Unless I hit the Deposit and Withdraw buttons in one specific spot they won't work! So I made a special Bank GUI with a white box in that one spot, and it works fairly well. Here it is, it is a quick solution to this banking problem in EE 2.7 perhaps others have noticed it.... Weapons

Dude take a look at my Tutorial on Items/Paperdoll Here is a link, especially look near the bottom at the part on paperdolling (making weapons so that when you wear them, they appear on your guy in the game) [http://eclipsegames.esmartdesign.com/items.htm](http://eclipsegames.esmartdesign.com/items.htm)
  6. Heres an excerpt from my Tutorial site….. > Hosting Info > > Once you’ve downloaded the Client/Server and gotten a few maps made, here are some things you ought to know about hosting your game. > > Cable Modem – this is like 300 times faster than dial up and is far better when you host your game. The IP number might change a few times a year due to power interruptions, hurricanes, etc…so keep an eye on your IP number. I got Cable Modem ( Bright House Cable) and it costs me $45 dollars a month, which is worth it because my family can use the phone when I’m online, and my browsing and download is way faster. I personally spoke with a Bright House representative and she told me its ok to host a game using their Cable Modem service on my comp, and there’s no bandwidth limit. Also I can now confirm that there was no “surcharge” on my bill for hosting. > > IP Address – this is a number which always must be correct for people to log onto your game. Think of it as your computers “phone number” that other computers have to call to communicate with your computer! I have heard that there are thousands of “Ports” available to choose from. However, I myself have successfully used the following Ports - 7234, 4000, 4001, 4040, 4060. This Port number in placed in the proper box in your IP Config setting of your Client. It becomes especially important when you are “hosting” more than one game, because you will want to use different “Ports” for each different game. > > RAM – your computers Memory is important in making a game that won’t lag. My original RAM (Random Access Memory) was 356 MB and it lagged when “Saving All Players” I checked out my memory usage when this happened and noticed that the memory was maxed out at 100%. 7. > In my items.bmp it has a long list of paper-doll stuff and right at the end it has my non paper-doll stuff, but i cant get that far down when i try to make an item… do i have to delete some paper-doll item slots and move them up? I ran into a problem like that with EE 2.7 I have a huge Items sheet ( size 385 X 15008 ) I was using for EE 1.0, and when I made some items on EE 2.7 with pictures from the bottom of the sheet , then I was NOT able to edit those items afterward, and when I tried to the game client would crash ( error 280) SOLUTION : I copied the needed items pictures and put them near the top of the (non paperdolled) items. THEN I made the whole items sheet shorter….(new size 385 X 10241) It works fine now

I have a Tutorial website and usually try to answer questions about Eclipse with some success. But I have been trying to solve one particular question posed to me without sucess. The senders main language is Spanish. Here is the question that was messaged to me, does anyone have a good answer for this problem…. > You have just been sent a personal message by HammeR on Eclipse. > > IMPORTANT: Remember, this is just a notification. Sprite help!

@Kreator: > Although his diagram was hypocritical. Anybody else notice that since he uploaded it in JPG, that the black color was ruined, and therefore, if used it would still have the same issue? The black throughout the background is minutely different shades. Oh my gosh I didnt notice it! Yes of course the graphics sheets for ALL the files in your GFX filder must be bmp files. If you convert it to jpg it completely messes it up with off black splotches everywhere, so… keep it bmp (Good catch Kreator)

    Sprite help!

Excellent answer Riddler! I would only add one thing, that is make sure there are no "off black" (almost black) areas on your sprites sheet, because these will show up as annoying spots, or lines in your game. I sometimes check an area of my sprites sheets by blocking it off and turning it red, or purple, or some weird color, just to make sure that the WHOLE area is completely black. The "un black" areas will be sharply contrasted this way. If its OK, I simply "undo" it, if its not ok, I simply undo and take further action, being careful not to damage my sprites in the process. Sometimes it is simply a "line" of slightly off black where I pasted a custom sprite. Other times it is a series of "spots" that are near the sprites, I simply make sure to "erase" these by painting over them with pure 100% black ( my transparent color)
  11. I was looking at the Eclipse website and I went to the Sprites page and noticed Marsh had posted a link to MegaUpload for my tiles set "Big Sprites with Dragons". I went ahead and tried to download it just to take a look at it, and I couldnt do it! It said "Estimated time 5 hours!" So…..I went ahead and zipped the file and put it on "Media Fire" instead, which tends to be MUCH faster, here is the link it took me like 5 sedconds to download it with Cable modem..... [http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?wjm5tyglgzz](http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?wjm5tyglgzz) Also could someone plz let me know how this download and these Sprites work, I wanna make sure it works for people

  14. Hello just to add additional help with RTE 429, heres a little snippet from my upcoming Tutorial for EE 2.7…....... 11) I immediately got "Run Time Error 429 – Active X Component can’t create object". I solved this RTE 429 by……..going into the Client Folder and then the Data folder, and there were about 16 files there…mostly OCX files, I right clicked on them and registered them all. > Quote from: Mellowz on June 16, 2008, 10:42:40 PM > > REGISTER YOUR DLL/OCX FILES IN THE CLIENT DATA FOLDER! 12) Then my Server loaded right up. (NOTE : I have gotten info that sometimes an additional thing is needed to solve RTE 429……..”All I did was download (Godlords) Eclipse Library Files [http://files.filefront.com/ELI2RC4exe/;12161088;/fileinfo.html](http://files.filefront.com/ELI2RC4exe/;12161088;/fileinfo.html) and run it and then I ran the ELI2RC3HF4 file, then when I tried running server it worked…..Creds to Legend 1234)

    Money in the game

The only thing I could tell you is to follow the steps I listed above. I think maybe you missded one of the steps? If not then Id have to get onto your game and take a look…. hmmm......but try rechecking first that you've done all the steps. PS What is your main language? I think there might be a bit of communication problem here

    Money in the game

I need only answer about the paperdoll problem…. Paperdolling This is optional for Eclipse Games. But it is really neat and can be done if you are willing to spend some time and effort to do it. What it is, is basically when you wear armor or a weapon in the game it actually shows up on your character! And when you change weapons the new weapon shows instead! Yes it is very realistic and interesting. Here is a brief overview on how to do it….... 1. Go into the Server Folder and into the “Data” file and set the “Paperdolling option to “1” 2. Make a custom made “Items” sheet which is designed specifically to allow the Paperdolling to function. This will replace the normal "Items" sheet that originally came with your games engine. I personally spent about 50 hours making a custom Items sheet for my game "Post Nuke" ( Also if you are lucky you can get a pre-made paperdoll sheet sometimes) Check here.....[http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/paperdoll.php](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/paperdoll.php) for a pre made sheet 3. This is basically done by choosing the number of items armor, weapons you want to “appear” on your guy when you wear/wield them. I myself made about 30 items that were "paperdolled" ( Of course down at the VERY bottom of the Items sheet are a group of NON paperdolled items that are used for currency, food, misc items etc…..) 4. Also make sure you are choosing a paperdolled sheet that is intended for the same SIZE as your sprites sheet characters....ex. use a 32 x 32 paperdolled sheet if you have 32 x 32 sprites ( characters) And of course use a 32 x 64 paperdoll sheet if you have 32 x 64 sprites (characters) in your Sprites sheet. 5. Place these in the special spots in the Items sheet near the top that will facilitate Paperdolling. This will make the sheet refer to a spot further down on the sheet where you have pictures of that item/armor/weapon in all 12 positions that a character will need to be seen when holding that item. (It is part of the softwares functioning in the Eclipse game engine that goes into action when you set the paperdoll function to "1" on the Data file in the server folder) 6. All the items that are paperdolled will need to be represented down below in all 12 of the positions. This can be done by actually using a character to “position the item” then deleting the character so that only the item remains. I have spent many hours "adjusting" the position so that the papderdoll appears correct. It is VERY helpful if all your characters in all the classes are the exact smae shape, width, and heighth, because then if someone picks a different class of character it will also show up correctly on the character in game. I know this idea very well since I have almost 10 different types of characters in my game! 7. Of paramount importance is “where” the item will appear when paperdolled, that is to say you must “paste” the paperdolled 12 positions in the proper slot down below so it appears on your guy when you”wear” it. One trick to doing this is to “number” each slot down below so that when you “wear” the item you will see the appropriate number of where the paperdolled 12 positions item need to be pasted. For example.........when you “wear” a red crown, the red crown will need to be in the proper slot down below so that your character in game appears to be “wearing” the red crown. 8. Perhaps it will clarify this if you look at this “pre made” Paperdolled sheet. It has some good pictures and little explanations of how a paperdolled "Items" sheet functions...... -----------------------------------------> [![](http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/2756/itemspaperdolledwithexpms3.th.jpg)](http://img118.imageshack.us/my.php?image=itemspaperdolledwithexpms3.jpg)[![](http://img118.imageshack.us/images/thpix.gif)](http://g.imageshack.us/thpix.php)

    Money in the game

Hello and good luck with making a game! I noticed 3 questions, so let me try answer all even though they answered some already…. 1) How do I make currency? Answer - go to admin control panel by hitting F1, go to items editor, name your item "gold", where it asks what type of item is is ( Armor, helmet, legs, key, etc….) selecy "currency". This will automatically cause the gold to "stack" Then save that item. Now every time someone collects some currency it will always stack in their inventory and you will see the amount next to it in parentheses For example......Gold (3,127) 2) How do I get the NPC's to attack me? You are right to set the NPC's to "Attack on sight" BUT An NPC will never attack an ADMIN. May I suggest you make a "non admin" character to test the NPC's attacking you? (rare bug - I noticed that sometimes I had to set some music on that map to get the NPC's to attack even a non-admin NPC with TE 1.0, However, I think you may in fact be using EE 1, please double check which engine you are using) 3\. How do I set up the IP Address on my game, when I write my real IP in the game it shows OFFLINE? Try this. Turn your server on. You should see a little black and green "E" at the bottom right hand corner of your screen along the tool bar thingy. Click on the little green E and the Server window will pop up. Go to the tab "Control Panel" Look in the top left area and you will see the servers PORT number and also the IP Address that the server "senses" automatically is yours. Also you should be able to click on the IP Address there and it will cause the browser to open up to "IP Chicken" and thus give you your IP Address. Copy your IP Address. NOW go to your Folder that says Client. then go to the file in there thats called "config" enter your correct PORT and IP Address there. Save the config file. Then Open up your Client ( same one you use to play the game) It should show the Server as being ONLINE. P.S. I have a Tutorial site with the EXACT step by step guide I used to get my game Post Nuke going. I will give you a link to the page I wrote, and perhaps you will want to use some ( not all are mandatory) tricks I used to make my game work better…...[http://eclipsegames.esmartdesign.com/eclipseevolution.htm](http://eclipsegames.esmartdesign.com/eclipseevolution.htm)
  18. It is in fact a special "Items" sheet that has some of the items arranged so as to facilitate paperdolling, it works with the software in the Eclipse game engine so as to make the items appear on your guy in 12 diffrent positions ( the 12 that all NPC's have which gives the appearnace they are walking, fighting….) The paperdoll file then replaces your items file...... you move your old items file outa the GFX folder and rename the paperdoll sheet " Items" Where to get? I myself spent about 100 hours customizing a paperdoll sheet for my game Post Nuke However there are pre made paperdoll sheets and some dang good ones available, Ill look around and see if I can find a handy one for you to download.....I assume you are looking for Medieval Knights/Armor themed? 19. I applaud you for trying to customize the game play, if you ever get it working I will definitely download it and play it! But I am trying to understand what exactly you are doing…..Is it some Battle like Command and Conquer? Or......is it a Team Battle like Capture the Flag in Halo? Plz I request that you describe what exactly your Battle system will be when you get it working??????

    Guilds

Guilds A "Guild" allows you to create a group that will have a label above their name in game. A guild is simply a club, like the fighters guild, only fighters can be in it, guild of death, only pkers can be in it, You can create a Guild, and then promote people to be in your Guild. It will in both cases put a “label” above your head in game with the name of the guild. Guilds are made using some special command codes. You can make guilds in Total Eclipse, and Eclipse Evolution versions except 2.5. Creating a Guild Type in /createguild or hit F4 [![](http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/7328/guildcreatewindowyb4.png)](http://imageshack.us) Above : The Guild creation window, put in the information in the boxes You have to be an Admin (access 3 or 4) to make a guild. Put your name in there and the name of the Guild you want to create. The Guilds name should now appear above your head. You have successfully made a Guild! Adding people to your Guild Now that you’ve created a Guild, you can add special people to it! Firstly they MUST be online. Secondly here’s how to add them to the guild….. Hit F5 (A window to edit Guild properties pops up. This function is a bit "iffy" I've noticed that I have to be in my Inventory window for the Guild Propeties window to show up when I hit F5) [![](http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/4692/guildeditingwindowpx5.jpg)](http://imageshack.us) Above : The Guild properties window In your left side of the game screen you’ll see the Guild Properties window. Put the persons name in there and hit the button that says…”Make Trainee” That person will now have the Guilds name above their head and they’re in the Guild! Talking within the Guild The Guild has the ability to speak only to guild members! (Similar to clan chat on Runescape) To talk to Guild members only type this… /g then your message It will speak globally ONLY TO GUILD Members! Guild Chat! Note : If you have more, or better info about Guilds, plz message me and I'll add it.
