-SandGeist-
[Photofiltre] Making a Simple GUI.Step 1: PlaningStep 2: Work callsStep 1: PlaningBefore you start Working on your own Gui you should think about the Theme of your Gui. The Theme could be a Combination of Colors, a Pictures as Template or just the kind of your Gui(Medievel, Modern etc.) Write your Ideas in a text file.Step 2: Work callsIf you finished with the first Step u can beginn with Part two of your Work. First of all you Download Photofiltre its a free good grafic programm: http://photofiltre.softonic.de/downloadInstall the Programm and Double click on the exe.Now you should see this Window:![](http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/3554/66301082.jpg)Press File - > New with 600 x 400 pixels.![](http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/6426/12972275.jpg)Now its time for a Background. You can made one by yourself or just google one. For sample ill made one by myself.![](http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/3598/63054805.jpg)Now open a new file with the same size (600 x 400). And paste this Gui template.![](http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa235/darkbasic3d/MainMenu.png)Now fill the area you would to be transparent with Pink or another color with not is in your pictureFor example:![](http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/175/46147981.jpg)Now change the old Buttons with your own buttons, you could found enough on google or made one by your self.![](http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/4752/77630540.jpg)I made some textures looking like Metal. So now this icon:![](http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/6458/48623431.jpg)A new window will open. Just choose the color Pink and then Ok.Now the background will be transparent. Press Ctrl + A and Ctrl + C, go to the your background and press Ctrl + V. Now it will be looking like this:![](http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/541/62572676.jpg)Now add The Text and save the Pictures a a jpg. File named MainMenu at put it in the Gui foldern in your Eclipse/Cleint folder. If its finished it will be looks like this:![](http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/5609/26917251.jpg)Congratulations your done the first part of your full Gui. My english is bad, just ignor Gramatic errors XD.I hope it will help you.

damian666
dude, you just make a layer, and draw on that, that way you dont even have to define a transparent color…Damian666

Kailis
I'd also like to say that using fireworks with photoshop is a great combination to make a GUI. For example, you can take a look at my GUI i'm working on. Its not the "OMG Super Awesome" type but its nice for a game.Anyway, on topic now. I'd have to say thats a great achieving tutorial. Really makes people want to make their own GUI's for their games.

Patrick
I think that Paint.net is better. This has craploads of features no-one ever uses. If you want an addon for Paint.net then download one. Simple.
