Dark Crusade
![](http://i34.tinypic.com/208z0x3.png)_A Neverwinter Nights Persistent World_**Foreword-**Alright, so I've finalized the general design plans for a module idea for Neverwinter Nights. It will sustain a roleplay atmosphere for Eclipse members who enjoy Dungeons and Dragons. Until further notice, the project will not be discussed anywhere else, although upon a release I may promote it on the Neverwinter Nights forums, however until then I'll just contain it here. Regardless of the fact that development has only started recently, I'll keep posting updates and discussion, to keep my motivation strong. I also look forward to seeing some interest from our members. This project for me is mostly for fun, and upon a future release hope to share the experience. For those who do not own the game, I strongly recommend it. Neverwinter Nights is one of my favorite games of all time, and still today a very popular game, with thousands of varied modules and servers online. With the community expansion packs still in development, content for both players and builders.**Setting-**Elandor is a grand continent of many provinces, the northern region of which is separated by a vast river, known as the ĆĀ¢Ć¢āĀ¬ĆÅGreat RiverĆĀ¢Ć¢āĀ¬Ć¢āĀ¢. Three major collections of islands also reside around the continent, Plunder Isle, Siren Islands and The Abyss. It is north of the trade capital, Enharbor. The player begins their adventure here. Upon creating a character, the player wakes up onboard a cargo ship in nothing but rags. A harborman explains that the player was found adrift a keg a league out in the ocean. The player is believed to have been a victim of a shipwreck, after besieged by pirates. However, luckily brought onboard the ship by fair merchants and brought to the peaceful harbor town of Avendock.**Points of Interest-**_Arms and Armor-_ Blacksmith and Armorer, selling fine but affordable weapons and armor._The Outfitter-_ Various aesthetic wears are available, including outfits, coats, commoner wear and dresses._General Goods-_ Miscellaneous goods, such as torches, healing kits and capes can be purchased._Church-_ The town priest offers healing, supplies and can resurrect you if you perish_Rusty Bucket Tavern-_ Offers rooms to rest in, as well as drinks and food._Mushroom Cave-_ Small cave near Avendock, with small critters, and mushrooms that are harvestable. Dark Crusade
@Crimson:> Also (I've always wondered this) can games made with the NW modder thing be compiled into a standalone game?Nah, custom modules require everything the standard game has, minus the official campaign module itself. Dark Crusade
Alright, finished some nice scripts. Collector quest is fully working (thanks to Balliztik1 for some reviewing), Respawning as well as death penalties are in place, and respawnable encounters and treasure is flawless. For those interested, I'm using the following hakpaks.Community Expansion PackCommunity Tileset PackCommunity Music PackCommunity Sky Pack_Lord of Worm's_ TilesetsTBX Forest TilesetAztec TilesetClassic DungeonI was going to use more custom tileset hakpaks, but I cut back as many as I could. The ones I have left have the most flexability. And aside from that, I don't want additional ridiculous download sizes, want to keep it to a minimum so everyone can play. All the community hakpaks, theres a good chance you should have. Especially the expansion. They are required for almost every other module out there. death
I think you need the bought version to play online. This isn't like CIV IV where most of the people playing are pirates. Yarg me maties! I be one of those pirates and so are me steam hearties. xD
Dark Crusade
@Xeross:> Does one need an actual purchased version of neverwinter nights or are *cough* other *cough* versions also good.Don't be cheap, the game cost under $20AUD for full version, plus both expansion packs, plus additional premium modules. Then after downloading the community expansion, theres limitless possibilities.

He will be too lazy to google it so I'll tell him. NwN is a D&Dlike game. It has dungeons, the same stat systme, same class systme, feats ect. It is basicly D&Do just not online all of the time. Unlike D&DO, you play on a single storyline. So you start a game, pick a campain, then you play though that. You can get other quests while doing it and explore while doing it. It's also online, and I wasn't sure where else to put such a topic.
