I'd definitely say the favorite part of my game, http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,57304.0.html, is the fact you can buy/own land.

I have SO MANY best screenshots >
Well, my best feature is the mapping; but there's no single screenshot that can explain the mapping….

Hmm, okays... I'll pick the best from each section!

Genesis, EE1 build, loved the entire world and all the weird stuff we'd coded.

I do like a good fortress :D

Map Generator, could build maps to a fairly good level in a few seconds. Totally customisable.

Skill scripts with objects that had respawns and different visuals, mining shown.

Weather that could hit and hurt the players, used for fire spikes in volano areas etc

>! ![](http://www.mindbeast.com/EclipseStuff/Genesis4.png)

Script driven chain lightning spells controllable by the player

Just an awesome tileset and a great co-developer really.

No a combination of things killed off its EE1 form.
1) The other developer and myself started/are having difficulties in real life
2) I came to the realisation that a downlaoded game with this level of graphics was unlikely to do anywhere near well enough to be able to go commercial ever
3) I went off and learnt flash programming and have since built a completely web based flash client on my own.

Genesis is the much loved ancestor of my current project Destiny. I can dig up some cool stuff from that too, but most regulars have seen the bits and pieces I have to show already.

Total Eclipse base + vbGore particle engine (with modifications for compatibility)
![](http://echostorms.net/SS/fpstest1.PNG)

vertex lighting
![](http://echostorms.net/SS/colorize.PNG)

capped FPS performance
![](http://echostorms.net/SS/fpstest2.png)

PNG alpha layer usage, rendered shadows, and text also rendered (not 'drawn')
