Forum misuse and abuse

It appears that some people do not understand the proper way to use certain features of the forum or have no regard, so I will enlighten you on some proper etiquette.

First off the quote tag.

When a quote should be used….
1\. When your post wont be understood out of context.
2\. When you are commenting about certain sections of an earlier post.
3\. When the poster of the post you are commenting about posts again. You need to let them know which post you are referring to.
3\. When you have the same opinion as someone else. (I cant stand this option myself)

When a quote should not be used....
1\. You do not need to quote the post right above yours.
    Example:
    Sally: Eclipse is the best!

    You:@sally:

> Eclipse is the best!

    Epic!

We can see the post directly above you!

2\. You do not need to quote posts that are within a few pages of each other especially if your post does not need any context.

Example:
    Sally: Eclipse is the best!

    Fred: herp a derp

    Billy: When is SE coming out?

    You:@sally:

    I agree!

    An @Salley I agree works perfectly fine.

3 You do not need to quote multiple people and fill your post with quotes.
Example:
  @Sally:

If you are replying to the OP then quote them only. If you are replying to someone's reply to the OP then quote that person.

4\. When someone posts a huge pic
  We already saw the pic once, you do not need to flood the forum with the same pic over and over.

Large Images....

STOP posting large images. If you post a pic that is going to be larger than what is viewable without scrolling it is TOO BIG! Some people view this forum on their phones, small screens, dial up, or just dont want to stare at a gigantic pic. This does not mean you have to make it tiny... but if you have to still scroll the pic at 1600x1200 resolution... that is way to big! Remember most resolutions are 1024x768.

Use the width modifier in your img tag to make your picture smaller. i find a width of 300 is usually pretty decent size.
Example ![](Before you press post when posting a pic you should do preview to see how it looks.
