Nintendo recently closed down a pokemon fan based MMO  because they claimed they are violating there rules or something.Now Nintendo thinks of it as a violation,but the news is all over the internet and many think it's wrong,even a administrator of Xbox said so. Not only did they shut down a fan based MMO,but they showed the immaturity while doing this. http://pkmnglobal.org/ . They have the right to do whatever they want with it if it's trademarked.

It'd be like someone making a fan-game of your original game. If you payed to have it trademarked and someone uses your tiles, names and locations without your permission - you'd have the right to do that.

Pokemon is a trademark…and by using anothers ideas in this sense is an infringement..all fan based games must know their game can be shut down. Why do you think companies copyright...so that their ideas can be protected.

I don't see the point of discussing this matter, even chatting about it for that matter. The fan MMO is gone, end of the deal, done and a . after the discussion. Indeed Nintendo has the right to close the
MMO, but I can't help to agree even a little that it is a bit low for Nintendo to do that.

Of course protecting your Tiles and such is important, but they earned no money from it, only people who enjoyed it. It is like Nintendo has nothing better to do then weed out, MMO's they don't seem to like that much.

But on the other hand they would probably try to prevent the MMO´s from growing to a massive one if they would decide to make a own Pokemon MMO.

It´s simple way a Positive and Negative action.
