Some of my beginning items/tiles - Be warned I suck

These are all of my creations I've ever done that's why they are so terrible. But a couple of them I really like. Please tell me what you think I've only done 4 total tiles in my life and 4 total weapons (1 I did a long long time ago, I just recently got back into pixeling and I can't find that one from a long time ago :( )

My beginning item set, I personally like the the Ice Shuriken and Flame Sword, I had no idea I was going to be able to pull of the flames that well my first ever try.

Well.. I do think they suck, quite bad. But I guess the.. Stick? is at least shaded, so that's a good start. I'd recommend you look through some tutorials.
Those tiles = worse than the weapons honestly.

Oh and the fire behind the firesword, looks a bit too good compared to the rest. If you did make it, nice.
With tiles you need to think about how they look when they repeat themselves, the weapons needs a lightsource.

Thanks for the tip, and that stick is actually a spear. The only reason I didn't shade the actual sword on the fire sword was because it was 7AM and I was in a hurry to get to bed and post this. Yes I know the tiles suck I merely posted them for people to give me tips with them, my wish was fulfilled, thank you.

Your rock tiles shouldn't just go strait from black to gray.  Look at some tutorials, in the tutorial section of the forum.  They help a lot.  At first my tiles looked like green squares, and now they actually look like tiles… although i stopped working on them.

If you know something's bad, why do you even bother posting?
Try again, look at more tutorials and when it looks half-decent, post it. Then we'll comment on how good it'd look instead of saying how it's bad atm.

Edit: New concept axe for Cast Away Online, I took the tips and looked up shading, this is what I learned (I still haven't got it down yet).

Why not post here? He isn't looking for praise nor is he closed to our suggestions, he is learning and we can view and offer criticism to help him improve. They aren't horrendous just very basic. Just needs to keep practicing and my suggestion would be to view others pixel work to compare how they achieve their end result.

DeDe, if you want to be helpfull, redirect Ascid to a pixeling tutorial, like Microwave did. Show off threads are not only ment to show people finished and perfect work but also to help begining authors improve - Eclipse is not Pixeljoint or Derpiantart.

Well the progress is obviously there, that axe you just made is far better than your earlier work. I'm sure it's just a matter of practice, practice practice… Oh and tutorial, tutorial, tutorial...
