Guest
Didn't mean to offend you by redoing your base, haha, I'm just really hyped up right now and tweaked it a bit.![](http://i55.tinypic.com/14w3vvd.png)What I did:-Moved the head forward a bit to align with body.-Fixed hand so it looks like its in a resting position and not picking the guy's ass. XDSorry haha. I really like the sprite though! It will be interesting to see animations hair styles, and outfits! This style is probably my most favorite. Lukin
Heads are usually not a perfect circle, although I kind of like how it looks anyway, looks like it could be your personal style choice. :P

I moved it back and forth about 5 times while making it haha. As for the outline on the head, for the sake of the cartoon style, I think the outline will need to stay.**The Hand:** Looks Great now! I knew something was weird._* Thanks again, heres what I have now:_![](http://I.imgur.com/ih8N2.png)–--------------@Lukin:> Heads are usually not a perfect circle, although I kind of like how it looks anyway, looks like it could be your personal style choice. :Phaha yea, I rethought the circle head a couple times, I even added an extra pixel in height to help it a bit, but it matches the cartoon style I was going for anyways. Thanks, & I will be working more on this base for sure :cheesy:-Jake

Guest
The 2nd one, its arms are to big, which makes me like the first on more, but wheres his other arm? I feel like he's popping out his chest, like some boastful stance.

Its a really good start. However, if the back of the body is angled as so, then the front needs to match. Think of real life when you arch your back. What does your stomach do?As far as the arms and legs…You need a compromise between the two arms. Not too skinny and not too bulk. And for the legs, they need to be separated a bit to fit the stance.Overall though I think it is a really good base! If you decide to use it I can't wait to see the finished product! Murdoc
![](http://i.imgur.com/ih8N2.png)This one looks best of them all. The alternate versions make the guy look like hes doin yoga, or just really deformed.

mrmiguu
That looks better. You might need one more pixel-layer of shading on the far-left of the sprite to show that that side is getting the least bit of light.
Irhymer
Thanks, that made the base look alot better imo:![](http://I.imgur.com/15X1B.png)Anything else? & Thanks for the tips ;)-Jake
Lukin
A bit too rough of a transition between the darker shades and the lighter ones. I made my own little version of yours, changed the highlight color to make it stand out a bit more, also added one more shade.![](http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/oo216/LukinT1/15X1B.png)

guzmanm
Hey man D: long time no see! How've you been? B-) I can see your trying to do pixel art, lol. Haha, yeeeaaah.Okay, here it goes. The shading is bad, The head is… err... umm... a circle... And try to use more shadings, please. Try to shade it as it had knees, six-pack, and stuff like that, not just some pillowed shading, blargh. It's nice to see you spriting man, actually awkward too. Haha, well, good luck with it ;) Oh, and no offense by the way D:

Irhymer
idk lol. But after these comments I realize I need to work alot on shading, especially when I start spriting gear for the base. So after I get a little more practice in, I'll post a clothed sprite. (I can't sprite hair for my life atm)

Jeff
He looks waay to 3d. It could work as a style, but if it's using Rmxp tiles…. no. I think you have too many colors. Also, The way you angle him both arms should be showing, as he isn't perpindiculat with the eye, he's at more of a 75 degree angle.
Irhymer
@Jeff:> He looks waay to 3d. It could work as a style, but if it's using Rmxp tiles…. no.Lol, **no way** I'm using Rmxp tiles, so 3D is cool. If I use it, the graphics would be 100% custom. I hope everyone wasnt assuming this..@Jeff:> I think you have too many colors. Also, The way you angle him both arms should be showing, as he isn't perpindiculat with the eye, he's at more of a 75 degree angle.Originally I only used 3 shades (Outline, Shadow & Base Color), but as comments about shading came I ended up with 5 I believe (not including lukins edit, which I haven't checked yet). As for arms, I attempted showing the other arm and it looks even more akward then without the arm. But, I moved the arm over a little to the right to try to correct the angle problem:![](http://i.imgur.com/2hYQd.png)Any better?
