aaaron
So I saw decided to start working on my ISO Pixel Art type skills. Practice makes prefect, but here's what I got so far. If you could give tips/advice, thanks.1\. Simple Building [Will color it in and add detail as in like brick or something after showing it]![](http://freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/7ca4858d3cfd8fffa781a10fca794800.png)1b. Toranos
It's hard to get isometric wrong, but good job in that aspect. Maybe try making the brick outlines more suggestive, creating the 'shadow' part more, rather than just purely black lines, for the next version. Conra
Great work Aaron!!! I agree with Tora. The brick lines do look a bit strange but your perspective is great. Can't wait for the next version.
Godlord
Your outlines are basic so far, now you have to know how to select an appropriate palette, how to apply it and how to break the monotony. You can read some tutorials [here](http://www.petesqbsite.com/sections/tutorials/tuts/tsugumo/) and [here](http://www.derekyu.com/?page_id=218).To give some basic advice already: you'll want to reduce the contrast between your outlines and the actual colours you're filling them in with, therefore you don't use black for your outlines. As for colours, I recommend you to learn how to use Microsoft Paint's colour selection utility, especially the HSV/HSB/HSL-format, since that will help you select an appropriate palette. You'll also want to learn how to add some texture to your bricks, your roof, etc. and preferably not through dithering patterns, since that is required for transitions, but is almost useless for textures. There is a major issue with your outline: the brick outlines aren't fully symmetric, i.e. there are different sizes of bricks. For a castle wall, this can be a good thing, for a home, just no.As for the actual house, you may want to teach yourself to be less generic. Most houses won't have a flat roof, and usually have more than one floor, and more than one room. But this will generally depend on the style of game.Regards, Stephan. ZoSo
This looks like art that was made 1998, when the internet was new.

aaaron
Added the next version of it. No shading, but fixed the outline. Will post shadow next.
Conra
Looks better. Like the change in the bricks.
Lukin
I don't like the gray splitting outline there between the sides of the building, try making it a darker red or something. And what did you shade? You could also darken the color on one of the sides, depends on where your lightsource is I guess.
Chief
Your brick pattern is totally out of place everywhere.
ToshiroHayate
The windows are way too small. That, and try adding a roof.
luriok
@Toshiro:> The windows are way too small.Or maybe add a window frame or something
Pbcrazy
Need some variation in colors. Not all bricks are completely the same color or shade. Try mixing them up a little.
