Dead Island

We've got some Dead Island co-op going on. We're using a pirated copy. It's drop-in multiplayer so it doesn't matter where you are in the game.

Currently got Kusy, Aydan and I on-board.

PM me for details on how to set up cracked multiplayer.

@Erwin:

> It looks like its made by some 12 years old boys.

The animations were made to look good in first person. The arms look like that because you see the hands out of the corner of your eyes.

The only reason you can go in to third person is because of developer's mode.

I already thought, how the hell can a game be that bad. :P

As much as this video is funny, it doesn't look like that ingame, you don't see those kinds of animations when on multiplayer sooo… nope, game's fine. Piratin n' enjoyin.

Get your willy back up Robin. If that's even possible. Your hype over this game got over your better judgment.

**And heads up for not checking your facts faggy - you know I love you.**

Steam bitchez released an early build of the developer version of the game, there's no such shit in the final release that is on Steam now nor in the RELOADED… umm... I mean, box release.

Honestly, I'm pretty amazed with the game.

It has a whole different type of gameplay than Left 4 Dead games, it's more about the mood and exploration. Free roam of epic magnitude, scavenging for weapons that break down constantly (cool thing that you actually can see how it's breaking down in your hands).

Gameplay is a lot slower and combat seems orientated mostly towards throw-able and melee weapons (with all or most melee weapons being throw-able). At early stage killing even one of em zombies might prove challenging, especially since while you're butchering one motherfucker it shows up two more jumped your back out of nowhere - usually you see one of them and you can be sure that at least one more is somewhere where you can't see him. Also, the combat is pretty dynamic, of course you can hack-n-slash everything but it's way more effective to stop a charging runner with a kick to the chest or throw a hammer in his head before beating him into a red pulp with a rusty pipe or an oar.

I have few issues with how the weapon swapping works, it could be a bit more user-friendly, I'm pretty early in the game and the nice graphics compensate for the fact that most of the quests are fetching.

I'm actually surprised by how good it looks, but again, I'm still early in the game.

I found a car and drove it in to the sea. Then I walked 600 metres back to my quest to get Bob 5 bottles of beer.

The quests are _really, really shit._ At least the side-quests. It reminds me of WoW.

Hopefully the co-op main quests will make it more fun.

Don't discuss that stuff on the forum. If you need help PM me. Setting it up is a bit of a hassle.

Aydan and I spent 4 or 5 hours playing through the main quest line yesterday. It is seriously fun. The atmosphere is good, the team work isn't that forced shit you get in most co-op games now-a-days. The puzzles aren't amazing and the only strong zombie we've come across so far is a Thug, but my God is it fun.

It seriously feels like you're two people who're up against a zombie invasion and you're having to help everyone else because you're immune. I seriously suggest everyone to at least try the co-op. It really turns in to a completely different game when you've got one or two friends with you.

I'm going to shamelessly double post now…

I'm few good hours into the game, close to level 15 I think... Act II, in the city.
While level design is great, visual experience is stunning, combat is one of the best video-game experiences I had in a while and the overall mood of danger, fear, massive epidemic outbreak is maintained pretty well (especially in the second chapter and in the hotel mission)...

...this game is boring as a fucking fuck. You can kill only so many zombies before you learn the ropes of combat to the level where only a swarm of dem bastards can hurt you, killing Thugs is easy as pie with throwing weapons and picking them up or just pulling them out of the enemy's face and throwing them again, Suiciders are more helpful than dangerous and all your problems can be solved with a molotov coctail.
But honestly… all of this would be pleasure, especially since - as I mentioned - it becomes difficult to fight more than one zombie, especially if they surround you... if not the quests... those fucking quests.

Prepare to do straight-forward, bland fetch quests for the rest of your life… or at least your experience with Dead Island. 90% of quests are "bring me this, I'll give you money/weapon/ammo", I'll admit - I'm probably nowhere near the end, but still... Act II... 10 hours into the game and all I do is go places, pick items, go bring them back, insuline, medical bags, ID cards, transmitter amplifiers, daughter photos, teddy bears, accessories, armored trucks, you ducking name it.

The only addition to those are escort quests (and we all know that "escort quest" is a synonym to "pain in the ass"), some better designed main story quests and well... fetch quests in a car.

It hurts. This game had great potential and it only makes me more angry at those Techland ducks for wasting it on ducking World of Warcraft grind.

On the contrary - recently released Call of Juarez: The Cartel, game from the same poles Dead Island is, game that received crushing press due to xbox-faggots not being able to aim with their analogs had a great story with a twist and I'd say some innovative co-op solutions that actually pit the players against each-other while co-operating to the level where you're expecting a bullet in the back of your head from your own teammates (and not without a reason because the game ends with a three player mexican shootout in a burning barn).

Visuals, combat and feeling to the game - 10/10
Visuals, combat, feeling to the game and quests - 5/10

Not to mention those faggots couldn't even get the voice chat right.

Free roam is epic, as much as those quests are horrible, scenery in Act II makes them bearable… barely. I was jumping from one roof to another and slipped, fell down into that cut out area with concrete walls all around it, got swarmed by five zombies and accidentally threw a machete at a Suicider. Shit went boom.

Throwing weapons are op, with the last skill from survival tree (I'm playing that tattooed dude) you have a 50% chance that any weapon you throw will return and melee weapons take durability damage only when used in melee, not when thrown... now I just run around juggling axes and machetes.

And another interesting thing is, the outbreak seems to have something to do with locals being cannibalistic. The game takes place in Paupa New Guinea afterall.

Also, the woman in the starting shackle prays in polish, just like the one in the church.
