erkro1
Wow, that looks really nice, altho I don't understand why there are squares in the water. ;P
Skillzalot
i would assume the squares are the bottom of the fountain
azkanan
@Skillzalot:> i would assume the squares are the bottom of the fountain+1.Maybe i can add some sort blue base to create the illusion of depth.
Skillzalot
adding a little more depth would make it look more like there is actually more than an inch of water in there but i like it
Lynxaria
That's pretty good! It's nice to see a different fountain for a change, and animated as well. Nice inspiration for sure.
IceCream Tuesday
minimize the detail under water, in reality it would all be distorted from this view unless you were to walk up and put your face next to the water.
Annahstas
I would assume the squares would resemble tile in the fountain, giving it a more richer appearance?
azkanan
The base needed texture, otherwise it just looked… flat.A little bit of blurwork wouldn't hurt, though.
IceCream Tuesday
@Azkanan:> The base needed texture, otherwise it just looked… flat.> > A little bit of blurwork wouldn't hurt, though.Couldn't be more wrong. If it looks flat.. add reflections into it, as well as ripples. if its a fountain.. water should be causing a ring of water splashes.EDIT: ![](http://i.imgur.com/N6eAn.png)
Chief
ICT to the rescue! I completely agree. Looks much better without the bottom texture. It was too distracting with all that noise down there.
IceCream Tuesday
Don't get me wrong though, Some texture. towards the right. I did a slight brick pattern in darker blue. Something like that would be completely sufficient to depict texture, yet not over power the rest of the piece. I also suggest that you change the bricks of the fountain, Maybe make them bigger, or have more lighter shades per brick than dark.
Chief
And less dithering. On most of your art, you seem to go a bit over-board with the dithering, and everything just looks way too noisy.
IceCream Tuesday
![](http://i.imgur.com/v8SKx.png)I feel like your trying to put in a ton of detail in each texture, the eyes aren't going to see it that way. texture will come from it as a whole. Your brain will do the rest of the work. When you try to hard, it makes you say.. hrm.. can't tell on such small medium if that is bricks, or pebbles. Robin
WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL THESE PIXELS?But seriously, simplicity is key. All your works seems to turn in to a high-contrast mess when you add so much shit to it. I imagine you spend most of your time zoomed in to 1,000%.Classic example of not seeing the wood because of the trees. In pixel art every single pixel matters. You're trying to put way too much detail in to such a small space.
