**Description of the project:**
This game, is perhaps a very large and impossible undertaking. But I felt like trying, and have been thinking out some ideas and systems for a while now. The basic idea of the game would be that you, as a player are not tied to HAVING to be an Archer, a Mage, Warrior or hell.. Even fight at all! For this reason I have removed each and every reference to the class system as well as completely ditched the centralized levelling system. In stead, you can level and progress your character as you please. You went with melee combat, but think it's boring and want to switch to ranged? Equip a bow, and get cracking! Your progress will not be lost, and you can always switch back by simply equipping a melee weapon once more.

Of course, I'm still working on the crafting portion of the game which will be quite the undertaking. I have to keep it in such a way that you will NOT be forced to fight ever, after all. It will all be there for more casual gameplay, or hardcore. Have 5 minutes of time to spare? Go and gather up some materials or craft a few items to sell.. Or perhaps pick up a quest and help a citizen of these lands!

I also believe in a TRUE open world PvP system. You will NOT be able to judge your opponent's strength nor will he be able to judge yours. If you pick the wrong target, it's your fault and the joke's on you. If you pick on an easy target, then that's some interesting stroke of luck! PvP will be enabled EVERYWHERE aside from larger towns.. So be on your guard!

PvE content you ask? Well, this is something I am still debating on. I am currently deciding on using a full open world without ANY instanced content, but with bosses right there. So you don't just need to be on your guard for the boss, but also for approaching adventurers and them wanting to kill you so they can take the boss for themselves!

And does it also bother you how everyone always looks the same when they're your class? Well, aside from the fact classes are non-existant you can customize your character's hair, face, clothes and skintone in this game(from a list of available choices, of course) That should fix it right?

**Features**
Currently Implemented:

* Seperated Skills*
* Guilds(Scott's system, although I am improving upon it by adding graphical portions to it over text based systems)
* Character Customization
* No Class restrictions

(*=Attack, Defense, Endurance, Magic, Archery, Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing, Cooking, Blacksmithing, Fletching and Jewelcrafting)

Future Plans:

* World Bosses
* Auction House
* PvP Ranks
* Crafting
* Political System(Vote for your ruler once a week!)
* Conversational Quests

Yes, I know there's still a lot of work to do before the final idea. But hey, I'm making some progress! I've been rewriting a lot of features and functions in the original EO to suit my needs. Also, yes there are some things in here that are offered as a tutorial for everyone. HOWEVER I adjust them all to fit within my own systems, and adjust it to my own needs. So kudos to everyone offering tutorials I can use! And even more so when they offer base systems over complete solutions.

There are also several tweaks and changes in the game that really don't stand out as much because they're either nifty, or hardly noticable. Most of the work I've been doing has been in server mechanics after all, and this is not always noticable by the end-user.

**What I need**
Well, mostly artists. I'm currently using random resourced for my tiles, sprites, items etc. If possible I would prefer to not do such a thing, and so yeah.. An artist would be nice. ;]

A nice sound /music person wouldn't be a bad thing to have either. Right now I'm using the game in dead silence.

Up we go!

Today I finaly stopped being lazy, and applied TheImposter's UI work to what I have.. It's a work in progress of course, but here's what it looks like right now:
![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/2916b8d2bb93dc748cccb2d053cfa914.png)
It's in need of more changes and some adjustment. But I'm kind of happy with the way it turned out so far.

Well, I'm not competitive on it either. But I do enjoy it every now and then, it's the community it brings that often bugs me though. But alas, PvP tends to bring the longest lasting player base.. Not that it'll be something I'll let people get out of hand of course(I have a little system in my mind that will make the PlayerKiller take more damage the more people he's killed until he grinds down his status in a way I have yet to finalize).

Not so true?

Hmm, this is how i see it:

a pvp world = less new player, but = more old player
new ppl come to a pvp game, keep getting beat up, cries in a hole, then quit.
old player play the game, keep beating up noob, laugh like an evil maniac, keep playing.

I dont like PVP game, if i ever play game that is mostly PVP, like Combat Arm, most of the time i play Cabin Fever (aka co-op). The only exception is League of Legend, which i pwn the noobs, so.

You can't see what level who is in my game though. So beating someone up is going to be tricky if you don't know what stats they have. ;] It's an icky concept perhaps to some, but I'm willing to give it a shot. Could always redesign the idea later if it doesn't work out the way I want it to.

We all have our own preferences though, and I don't hold it against you. I'm just explaining my reasoning behind the decision.

If so, there should be no level in the game.

If there is level and you cant see it, welcome, we are playing a game of luck.

I would personally suggest that u get rid of all the stat and level, and instead, replace it with a new combat system, a combat system that require skill, not stat and item (just like League of Legend). The more skill you have, the better you are at performing combo, the better chance that you will win.

PVP should be about skill, not stat, equipment nor level

It's not much progress I guess, but I finished modifying the way chat is rendered in the chatbox.. It's much better with a shiny background no?

Of course this will not allow you to see a chatlog.. I'll probably add in a /chatlog command for this(As the in-game chatbox only registers 8 lines and renders them on a picturebox and all.. yada yada).

My game different how? Right now all I have to to that is;
Every eclipse game is the same, and will feel that way. I however am trying to implement things that I have not seen done before, or things that seem interesting that I receive as.a suggestion or from another game. My stat system for example. No more do you have one experience bar, but you can gain experience for each of your skills independently. I have a few more things planned based off of Ross's event system but since that's a future plan I can not guarantee what it'll be like exactly.

And the sprites are cut up RMVX sprites layered by my player customization. Using them as placeholders for the time being.

Sorry for the short reply and spelling issues, writing this from my phone on my way to work.

I see. I like the experience on different skills idea. I also like how you set up the game play screen. I love bigger playing screens. Though I am also one for liking game item's on the bottom screen instead of the top. But never the less it looks great.

> An extra comment is the leaves need to be better cut out. Also, I think they would look nicer with either a glow on them or a shadow effect. Maybe also a transparent effect midway of each leaf.

Sadly there is only so much DD7 can do, it doesn't support alpha blending and the like, I'm also not sure what the finalized interface looks like yet. This was a mock-up sent to me by TheImposter, I should receive the final version and implement it later today(According to schedule anyway). I'll run some of it by him though!

> This is an out rage. Someone let me help..

Patience, patience please. ;] I was heading for work and am currently there. So might not respond immediately. Do you have any examples of your work however? I'm not much of taking someone for their word alone. ;]

Thank you. I would like to be a pixel artist. Since I am uber tired I'll use some of my templates and quickly make a couple of simple pixel characters for you.
Example:

I will take any job I can get. I work for free..

Comparing those to my UI style doesn't really work out though. I believe I'm already pushing it by using 16 bit tiles with a modern-ish UI. I don't think the UI style allows going down in style/quality further.

You could just tell me I can't help other than screwing my brain up with things I do not know. :p

I figured I'd explain WHY though. I think it's rather rude to just say no without reason. :]

Anyway, a simplified version: The style used in those sprites does not match/mix well with my interface design.

Well it wouldn't matter, you'd need to tell me what you need instead of just asking for the help without any help for me to know what template to use..

I have hundreds of different sprites. You'd have to let me look. I'm about to sleep though, so I should get back to you sometime tomorrow around 3:00 PM Pacific Time
