Thorn, emo songs to me are songs that contain lyrics about feelings/emotions. Then to me every pop song is emo. Emo is not a genre at all. (personal opinion) Sonic Syndicate once claimed that the In Flames song "Only For The Weak" was emo… It made me laugh. And I would like you to link a gothic band. (And yes nightwish was great...) PS: These are just personal opinions, I guess you define emo as a sub genre of metalcore? Like BFMV, Sonic Syndicate, Silverstine and 1000s of other bands... If not then emo is a subgenre of every genre?
