  1. The problem is just how the event system works right now, it's completely based off of map processing rather than an individual system that runs seperate from it. So having them triggered by an item is just not feasible unless the entire system is rewritten and replaced. I agree it'd be a nice idea, but the way it works right now just makes this impossible. EDIT: That doesn't take away that item containers aren't a good idea, you can trigger them from spells, items, chests etc. for example, and that'll give them a nice purpose.
  2. Not specifically in a certain forum section, we tend to just use the QA forums for this purpose. (Although sometimes we have to nudge the topic in the right direction to get it under review!) EDIT: The event system can't trigger from items, HOWEVER you can make a lockbox item, and have the event system work on a tile that could be an NPC that gives you a 'random' reward for the player turning that item in to them.
  3. Have you moved or changed anything since it worked? If not, please open your References screen in VB6 and check if it can find everything. I doubt it's this, but we have to start troubleshooting somewhere, right?
  4. No problem! And we should probably write up something that explains the process a bit better. There's been a few people that got confused about it. I'll throw the idea up at the next meeting.
  5. That's because the order has to be processed manually for the time being (apologies for this!), I will send out a note to the developpers once they're online so they can set you up though. You'll receive a serial key and instructions on how to redeem it, after you've done that you can tag the little "log in as gold" box on the server panel and you're good to go!

    It's hardly hidden, it's at the bottom of the item editor if you look properly. I don't get how you could have seriously looked at the editor and thought "Oh, the paperdolling function must have been removed.", It's pretty much in the same spot as always after all, only difference so far is that the box it's rendered in is a bit smaller. (Also, an item in your item list is not automatically placed on your character when equipped, you need to manually set the paperdoll for it, last time it did this automatically from the item sheet was back in Eclipse Stable. Although obviously, since there's no item sheet with paperdolls on it anymore I'd imagine you can deduct it wouldn't do this on its own anymore.) ![](http://i.imgur.com/ttI10Ec.png) As for things being hidden, what is being hidden? I keep hearing folks tell me that information is hidden, but they never really provide any examples as to what is.

  9. Please be aware that these are subject to change, as there's a few plans to rework the system into something more.. constructive over time.

    What various pieces? Aside from EO2 and the new dungeon system this is all JC's work. Anyhow, as for the graphics.. There's a system like that, and it's referred to as Paperdolling in Eclipse.
  12. To some, to others it really wasn't. And options in an Open Source engine are rather silly, since people could just change it back themselves.

  15. I believe that only one or two components in VB6 support Unicode properly, so I would have to say no.
  16. Actually, the malware warnings being removed was my doing, I spent a good hour or so removing references on the site to a site that's throwing a lot of Malware warnings, which a lot of people (including sherwin) used for their image hosts, causing the issue.
  17. I wouldn't call that a fix at all, it just stops it from crashing.
  18. It was changed because it's a pointless system if both icons are the same. Which they are in most cases. Changing it back would require you to look at how 2.0 did it and just figure out how to work that math into any newer versions though.

  20. That's not 2.6, that's 2.0! I thought you meant some ancient monstrosity. Anyway, the closest I can find is a converter from 2.0 to 2.3, which won't work. The data format has changed quite a bit after that to accomodate for some fancy D3D8 changes.
  21. Ah, right. THAT issue. That's never going to work. VB6 simply does not support it properly.

  23. May need to make one yourself, as I don't believe there were any at that time. I wrote the first one around 3.0's release, and people copied that one over to some other formats. But none for 2.6, especially not if you mean Eclipse Evolution. (In which case it's even HARDER to get it all done, since a lot of features and formats are gone, changed or replaced)
  24. It's in the download section of Eclipse Dawn, and maybe. I don't have any real plans on what I'll add or not.

    I've never tried that, honestly. Maybe you can, but I doubt it since the map's more or less just instanced and modified per-player.
