    Paperdoll Format

What's the format for paperdolls? 32x32/32x64, direction for frames, and item type order in the layering?

x_x tried reinstalling and found the default installation place is on the desktop. Totes not expecting that. All I was looking for was where it was installed to, figured it'd be somewhere lower in C: How do I mark this thread as solved

I'm not talking about the function, I'm talking about where the images are located, so that I can add my own. I can't find where it's located at all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As for being hidden, I feel as if I'm upset at the change to closed source. Granted you're making a wonderful engine, and it works amazingly at that, the limits have been caged to 'you'. Regardless if you're better than 99.9% of the programmers here, that limitation is still there telling me "you can only do this much, that's all that's allowed right now.". Understanding that you can't please everyone, finding a middleground, or even having the time to care about one, it's fine that it costs money. I'd love to buy it. What else I'd like to see is a lot more growth, both financially, and community wise. Like, charge something substantial to have your product (gradually adding features and costs), make a flat price somewhere modest, then release older versions open source. That would be the silver and gold I'd like to see. Cutting edge gets what they want, if they want it bad enough to pay money (my category). Then later on, It's discounted, and includes an older version of the source. Located so far away on a timeline measured in patches, that your work doesn't feel like it's been jeopardized. and allows the other niche to be happy with something. Prices could even be flopped with the names, Silver is more expensive but offers more "freedom" & less new features. Owning Gold allows you to have the newest, closed, and also entitles you to participate in contests. Buying both would allow you to possibly create epic things in a thriving community, and enter them in to some hypothetical competition. For what? For winning cash and having the idea worked on and ironed to perfection. Even better would be, after all that one time payment stuff and emptying ramen & monster money, feeling a little happier and better rewarded with hard work, milestone patches could be an additional few bucks, something to say "hey this fucking rocks, here D:

I had credit in the previous client for the Mailing System. Also, is paperdolling IN silver & gold? I ask that because the character I created has glasses, but doesn't have glasses ingame, that led me to believe it wasn't. Nothing is direct anymore, everything is hidden, and we're all crutched on reading tutorials to figure out how things are done, even if they're not written yet :/

Are the original owners of various pieces of this system no longer being credited anymore? :( Also, another question I thought of, is there an option for adding ingame item graphics? IE: I wield a sword I see a sword?
  6. The only knowledge I have is words, and I tend to jump into things walking. In all seriousness, I'm DX stupid and have been for years. How would I go about finding a prebuilt library or wrapper, and what are those normally used for ._. PS: and by "Looked up" I mean I randomly found it and thought it could be useful somehow, and want to tinker with it but can't ![:(](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//sad.png)
  7. I've never been big into Dx, but I would like to be. I'm having troubles finding good tutorials though. Most everything I look at says "this is simple, it looks like this, it does that.", and leaves me wondering 1\. What does this part mean? 2\. What portion does what, by line ![
  8. Adding your project to Dropbox was a smart Idea. Now we can just add it straight to our dropbox and get updates synched to our folders when you make changes. haha Although you might want to change the link name to "Eclipse Advanced - Latest" or something instead, and then just add a version # file or something. IE: ``` Link: Eclipse Advanced - Latest //Permalink for current build = Elcipse Advanced 3.0.20 - XX/XX/XX Link: Eclipse Advanced 3.0.20 - XX/XX/XX Link: Eclipse Advanced 3.0.19 - XX/XX/XX ``` ``` Files: - Client - Server - Stuff - Updater.ini - Changelog Version(3.0.20).txt - ETC... ```
  9. It's a MYYYYYYSYTERYYYYYYY~~~~~~~!!
  10. Smooth and friendly, this one is sharp and intense. It doesn't fit the vibe of the community ![:(](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//sad.png) Lighter vibrant colors that go well in a color theme and make the page look like a single piece.
  11. @General-Pony: > Give a man a fish, and you will feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you will feed him for a lifetime. trade a man some fish, so that he can feed his family, and move on o.0?
  12. @Aydan: > What's that? People still trying to imitate the social 'elite' of engine makers to try and elevate themselves above others? Good job ;) > > If you want to see the engine move on then the only future is a port to another language since VB is out dated and as we all know and eventually support will drop for sure. > > So stop being so childish just because someone posts a logical and genuine concern about ease of use for all users and grow up. Thank you. VB6 has been confirmed to still have (limited but still there) support for the life of Windows 8\. So we got some time :) . I'd link you but I forget where I read it from. I kind of agree with you on the DX8 issue though, I'll probably be sticking with the DX version we have now as well. Although I don't think having Two versions of an engine will be that big of a deal. I wouldn't consider this move a stepping stone, but I do feel it's SOMETHING in a good direction. Kinda like tablets.
  13. @Eckhart: > My point is that I'd like to enable you to further your knowledge and skills. It seems you're adamant about this, but I predict that in a few days if no one has commented you'll try out my tutorial, realize that you can use it to make the buttons exactly like how they are in CS, then make a decent looking button. I've already tried your tutorial, and I did make a decent button. The original buttons were made by robin (or someone closely related to). I'm NOT LOOKING for decent. I also know that nothing I could do off some half-assed tutorial 4 dummies is going to compare to his work. Especially since it was only over a portion of how the button was made. AS I SAID PREVIOUSLY, I'll live without the request. But it would help if you'd stop bothering my thread.
