    Grass tile

Great job making the colors even less distinguishable from one another after multiple suggestions to increase the contrast. /sarcasm Aside from that, it looks like a bumpy surface. Make sure you're referencing from a picture of [unmown] grass and not drawing from your head. You can't just spam click a green color and expect grass. You have to follow a methodical process and make blades of grass.
  2. I think your best bet would be to scrap it and give it another go. Avoid filters as much as possible. Textures > Filters. Filters have their uses, but they're not really suitable for final renders.

    Grass tile

Sounds good. ![:)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//smile.png) It's a good start. Grass is a difficult tile to get right.
  4. Take a step back and ask yourself what you're doing with your life.
  5. Kind of insulting to read. As if that kind of behavior hasn't existed forever? The Internet is just a relatively new medium of many; it doesn't actually _cause_ addictive or psychotic behavior. No amount of Halo would duck up a _normal_ kid enough to kill his parents. Hell, dopamine (a chemical responsible for pleasure, memory, and attention) deficiency is a symptom of a lot of things, like ADHD. People with dopamine deficiency have always been prone to addiction because doing something you enjoy increases production, thereby counteracting the defiency. Not blaming you. ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//tongue.png) I just found the article to be a little ridiculous.
  6. > It is critical that the last handful of levels take a long time. Reaching level cap is lame if everyone can do it. Since when is it critical to make a game that forces someone to grind or give up? Have the cap mark the end of fresh content. Save the grind for the endgame.

    Cake Versus Pie

    Cake's good, but I'm a pie guy myself. ![;)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//wink.png)
  8. I favor a model in which the time required to level doesn't grow exponentially. If the cap were at 50, for example, the half way point should be at about 25-30 instead of the 40's, as the latter usually results in 1) a content-crunched, grindy endgame or 2) a grindy journey to a content-heavy endgame.

    Grass tile

It's impossible to judge without seeing it tiled, really. Doesn't look very seamless.
  10. The tree is excellent if you were going for a horizontal perspective. Otherwise, it needs some adjusting.

  12. Word of advice: don't call your first _anything_ "awesome."
  13. Work on shading and don't use palettes that look like MSPaint's default.
  14. You're complaining that the OS you've used for a year (despite not liking it) is too unfamiliar? Obvious BS. You are also calling an app-based OS a step _backward,_ of all things_._ lool_._ Welcome to the future of tech. You're going to hate it.
  15. I was initially very skeptical about 8\. I finally buckled down and gave it a try. …I love it. This topic seems to be plagued with over dramatic intolerance to change. God forbid one has to look at the sleek, customizable start screen for 2 seconds as opposed to spending 10 seconds navigating menus in Windows 7.
  16. Looks promising. I like that you're doing more than simply regurgitating the same old formula. If at some point you'd like another pair of hands, I'd be happy to help.

    Guild Wars 2

Have a couple level 80's, a 43, and a 25\. I haven't played seriously since the first month of release. It's a great game, but GW2's main fault is lack of content. Lots of work went in to the content that exists, which makes it incredibly polished, but things get repetitive. ANet was so worried about the grind that many of the _good_ grind activities present in other MMOs were replaced with anti-grinding activities that are so commonplace, they become a kind of grind themselves. The game definitely has some of the best PVP out there IMO. It's just a shame there's not enough other content to hold my interest. Other MMO's bore me even more, so GW2 is still one of my favorites. The Halloween update was lots of fun and got me excited for future content. > Not to mention that when you find a weaponset you like, you're likely to keep using that combination, but since the spells and abilities don't really change from level 1 and onwards, it gets really boring to fight as it turns into this stale "Oh right, I have to hit these buttons again" kind of thing. Anyone who has played other MMORPG's knows _every_ game does this. GW2 is actually far less guilty of facerolling than its competitors.
  18. Looks fluid and polished, although I can't offer much in regards to it looking like a ship.

    Tileset revamp

The buildings will be medieval timber-framed style. I'm fond of the look, and it will allow me to use both of the completed textures on one structure. Should have something done in a few days. I appreciate the positive feedback and the critiques. ![](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//laugh.png) I'll give modifying the tree's border a shot.
  20. > Slimfast. He likes big booty bitches. > I enjoy chubbier women, that's why she's chubby. The second one isn't bad, but the peg legs aren't cutting it, the detailing above the chest looks like a protruding ribcage, and I feel the belly button "slit" shouldn't be so obvious. I prefer some of your earlier sprites.

http://bit.ly/QQwM1D Most places, you'll find that it's not okay to make a new thread just because your old one got locked. Yes, you understand correctly. Read-Only means it can _only be read_, not modified. If a file can be read, then that means it can be copied. Have you ever played a PC game off a disc? It's the same as that. You can read the disc and play the game on it, but you can't change anything.
