  1. The shadow shouldn't "grow" when it jumps. Other than that, looks cool.

    Duckin' legs.

Nudge the feet back a pixel or two. That's what makes them look off balance. Other than that, everything looks fine. Legs are a bit spaced apart, but that could be stylized.
  3. The first one is a more appealing style for an ORPG imo. Your best option would be to spend all that time improving the old one.
  4. > What was the glitch? > > Was it falling into the hole in the Horror level? Yep, that's the one.
  5. > Looking for an additional pixel artist? > > I might be more free next month, and wouldn't mind doing some art. Sure are. That sounds great. I'll send you a PM.
  6. Pretty entertaining. I found a glitch, though. ![:(](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//sad.png) Got stuck and had to start over.
  7. Game looks sexy. Do you know when the winner is decided? I'll be sure to play it.
  8. Lol. I got nothing against gardening man. Sounds like a pretty chill class tbh.

  10. Loving the style. The staff needs work, though. Try to focus more on the _staff_ part of it instead the orb at the top. Right now it looks like a lightbulb.
  11. I like the body style of 1 the best and the face of 2 the best. Ditch the pillow shading.

    New Site

Upgrading the software was a smart move. Bugs aside, everything looks great.
  14. @Kreator: > The sprite looks out of place, the main reason being because of all the black line-work and outlines in the sprite. You're right. I guess my style is changing a bit as I pixel more. I'll make sure to go back and fix it up. Thanks, Nook
  15. Oh yeah, no doubt Aero is doing a great job. In the spirit of progress, here's a little teaser of sprite work. Each direction will have four frames. ![](http://i48.tinypic.com/34qk8zc.gif) And here's a "preview" of a _possible_ look. The actual name mechanic hasn't been decided yet. It will change. ![](http://i50.tinypic.com/2nirudt.png) All media is a work in progress, of course.

Oh. It's meant to be white stripes down the side, much like a pair of swim trunks or athletic shorts - if that makes it any better. If not, well… the shorts are just placeholder clothing.

@Vus: > It looks great, I will try the game for sure. Glad to hear! :cheesy: @Captain: > I like the sprite but i hate how the pants are shaded. Hmm. Why is that?

Most of the new stuff will get posted on the Mavra ORPG topic, but here's a little spelunking in shorts. ![](http://i47.tinypic.com/30jgpb8.png) @Kreator Varied cliff tiles - will do.
  19. @Dawntide: > Not sure why, but i am 100% sure that i saw all these tiles somewhere else before. I'm not sure why either.

    Helmet

Your proportions are off, for one. It almost looks tilted back except that the bottom of the helmet says we're looking at it from the front. Pay attention to what goes inside the helmet - the head. On a human head the eyes are in the middle. On your drawing the eye slits are 3/4 of the way up. Not good. Be mindful of these things. Your shading is not so great. You've got two light sources going on, and there's not much value to be had. Work on your colors. The violet background is part of the culprit, but the colors are still a bit bland and clashy. Avoid black for shadows. The inside should have hue to it. Wanting become better is the first step. Then comes trying. You're on the right path. :embarrassed:

@Socuine: > The cliffs attached to water are great, I was refering to those high cliffs that are connected to the grass tile. :) Oh I see. I'll give 'em the ol' grass-over-the-edges makeover and see what that looks like.

![](http://i47.tinypic.com/lkt34.png) Thinking about lessening the brightness of the water. Better or worse? @Toxicity: > Wow! Great improvement, you corrected pretty much everything I was going to pick at in the first post, especially well done on the water ridges. Let's see… > > The dirt paths seem kind of flat, and not worn down at all. And just some nitpicks, I think the top of the cliffs could use some bushels of grass where it meets the other vegetation. The tree's that aren't pine also do not have any grass poking out in front of the roots like the pine ones do. Thank you! Vegetation on the dirt of the cliffs? Sounds good. I was trying to be cautious about overdoing the bushel of grass tile, but that can be fixed by making more vegetation tiles. I'll get on that. I'll add the grass to the other tree as well. Thanks for the tips. @Socuine: > Simply amazing, Nook. The only and only thing I dislike is are the cliffs. You can't seperate them well from the grass, it looks like a wall of stone. I appreciate it! Do you mean the cliffs in general or the cliffs when on grass? My only water tiles so far have grass on them, so I would blame it on that… but I'd still be guilty. I may just edit the current cliff tiles or instead add some new ones that work more according to the suggestions.
