*Silence* Does this mean the challenge is over?

Now I just wonder who that 'someone' is…

Looking good, I hope you actually get it done! How long have you been working on this? You certainly seem one of the most dedicated of the hundreds of pokemon games I see crop up as you have been doing this for some time now (on and off). Best of luck, I look forward to the results. ~Kibbelz

This topic is way too old. *Topic Lock*

Pointless, the Pokemon Origins engine is on a really old version of EO and is very bare on the features required for a pokemon engine. I suggest making one from scratch.

Well at least you helped me remember that I even made this topic haha. Also now I can move it to where it should be… *Topic Moved* Edit: Cleaned up the original thread.

Mirage Legacy ORPG Engine [New Community support!]
kibbelz replied to iSnow's topic in Custom Versions
> i can say the same for EO4\. if you don't want ppl talking crap about your engine, then means a cluster of poorly written so First of all the definition of a 'clutter-duck' engine is a bunch of poorly written source code tutorials nailed together. E.O. 4.0\. doesn't contain any and thus can't be classified as one. -
Mirage Legacy ORPG Engine [New Community support!]

Great, another clutter-duck engine. Time to test this out, I guarantee 90% will be from poorly written tutorials -.- Edit: Nailed it. -
Many before have tried to convert. The only one I can think of who has successfully done it was JC about 2 years ago. Even then it was pretty buggy and ran pretty slow. In the end most people just give up. Best of luck converting, Be prepared to re-write whole sections of the engine in order to improve quality. ~Kibbelz

Moved to custom versions as requested by Thomas. Best of luck, ~Kibbelz

Many debates have started over the scripting system in EO 4.0\. The main/only reason it hasn't been done or been put onto the 'todo' list is purely because scripting allows users who are using the eclipses server hosting facilities and gaining access to the server host via the scripts. Its quite easy to set up and might even result in destroying the server if the person who wrote it had any talent at all, destroying everyone's data who has paid for the server hosting. I'm sure a safe method will spring to mind, if you find one please do post it. I would personally love for scripting to be in EO 4.0. ~Kibbelz

Wise words from a wise man. I hope you can bear with us whilst we are making changes to the site and we hope not to limit the users in **any** way possible. ~Kibbelz

Good luck finding someone to do this for you.

> research on your argument before sprouting crap about it…..what?? you mad? Mad that a retard like you exists. > In some countries, it is legal for an individual to personally make backup copies of a game they own. Using this gigantic text does not prove a point, it just is extremely dickish and a pain to read. Also ROMS is essentially theft which equals guess what? Piracy, which is illegal in all countries. > for a user to create their own backups of video game ROMs onto other cartridges. This was decided in the court case of Atari v. JS&A. JS&A manufactured a "game backup" device that allowed users to dump their Atari ROMs onto a blank cartridge. JS&A argued that the archival rule allowed for this. The court disagreed, noting that ROM media was not subject to the same volatility as magnetic media (for which the law was created). Thus, not being so relatively vulnerable, ROMs were not applicable under section 17 USC 117(a)(2).[[5]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ROM_image#cite_note-5) You just copied and pasted that without reading it. Now small child, it even says on the Nintendo official website that this is illegal: http://www.nintendo.com/corp/legal.jsp#download_rom Look for the: **Can I Download a Nintendo ROM from the Internet if I Already Own the Authentic Game?** question. You are wrong, > TRY AGAIN MAYBE? In fact don't, I think it would be better if you didn't.

> If you own the game and dump the rom and just use an emulator, Emulation is not illegal. > > For the rest …..there's MasterCard! ![:o](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//ohmy.png) Roms are illegal, even if you own the game. Research on your argument before sprouting crap about it. Also even 'if' you were correct, most of the players of Pokemmo would not have the games in the first place so the majority would still be being illegal. You have no valid argument. Ironically everyone slates fan-based MMO's on eclipse, however they seem to be the most successful. Why? This is due to they have a massive fan base that can easily be hooked onto and used for a good succession rate for your game. This is why Nintendo want to protect their products since in the customers mind: "Why pay for a INSERT_GAME_NAME_HERE game when i can just play the same thing, online and free?". If you had made something unique and as successful as Pokemon, wouldn't you want to stop people pirating, leeching off your hard work?
