**Introduction**

We're looking for a few positions for our team. Basically, Silverdale is being revamped and ported over to a new engine, and we're trying to improve every single aspect of the original - still keeping the classic quality in a modern perspective. Our main objective with this thread is to find people who love to make games, show passion for getting better and don't cut corners in their work. Even though we question your experience in this field, it doesn't mean you won't be accepted by us, because we believe that these qualities outshine talent and/or experience.

The game is going to be commercial, so it will be extremely high-quality.

**Notice**

The game is in early alpha, do not expect a masterpiece or completed product on anything that is presented.

**Gameplay**

* [World Map travel system.](http://sd.skideria.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2037&pid=4662#pid4662)

**Positions**

If your position is not listed you may still apply. We're always looking for more talented people to work with, but our standards for you will be higher than a position we desperately need.

* One game designer that loves and excels in math. You're going to be a secondary designer that helps balance the game.
* One game developer that helps map and other aspects of the game's content.

**Apply**

You can post it [here](http://sd.skideria.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=46) or contact me directly. We're looking for three examples of your work with reasons why you're interested in working with us.

**Contact**

You can reach me on Skype via Helladen, MSN via [email protected], Google Talk via [email protected], email me directly using my Google account, or send me a personal message here. Although, you will likely get a faster response if you use one of the first four contact methods.

I wanted to go the route of OGG formatted music and sound effects, but I do believe offering MIDI since it is a retro game is great to do as well. So, we're likely going to make two different clients or just choose the best one suited for the game (which is going to be MIDI).

I added another clickable link in the post. This one will explain the rewarded exploration system.

a few questions:

what engine is used, if any?

is the GUI functioning? The video does not show the cool new GUI.

If any Coding positions come up let me know, i used to work with SilverDale just before Justin bought it, i did help DFA out but after justin and DFA departed i no longer stood with the project. I only say coding position as i can no pixel or compose.

The engine is coded from scratch by the man that posted above you. ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png)

The GUI at the moment is partially completed. We have chat working and that's about it - no chat channels yet though.

No coding positions will be available at this time, but we're still looking for a composer and pixel artist.

I have included the video from Vaughan's post in the OP.

Hey Eclipse!

Do you want to work with the latest tool(s) in this indie scene? Do you want to be part of something awesome, huge, and about to change the game in online-retro gaming? Consider applying for Silverdale! We've recently opened up another position for mapper and are looking for potential developers to create content all around! Coders versed in C# are also welcome to apply for potential scripting jobs.

I have added two more screenshots to the OP, and provided another link to one of our distinct features.

We're still looking for people. If you have any questions feel free to ask. ![:)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png)
