  1. I updated the function. Removing update inventory caused a problem with trade. I just added a parameter for updating your inventory rather than always updating. This is useful if you write new code and need it remove items from the player's inventory without wanting to send an inventory update every time.
  2. I've updated the OP with more packages, price changes, and removed EclipseWorlds Engine from package listings. I will be working on it as I complete jobs, so it will be available one of these days. The engine is mostly for XtremeWorlds, but I wanted to bring both communities together under one engine.
  3. No one is going to steal your game. Only novice developers think like that. Besides, you'll never get any momentum in your project by keeping it all secret. I should know: I used to do the exact same thing, but I learned over the years that it isn't worth it. I'm a bit busy, but I can do [paid commissions](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/index.php?/topic/133030-helladens-programming-shop/) for Visual Basic 6 programming.
  4. > Specific methods to blow stuff up? In DX7 Oh. Maybe that is only available in DX8\. ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//tongue.png)
  5. > You will have to change the location of the GUI increase the screen size and stuff. No. You can use specific methods to blow stuff up. Although, it won't be as pretty as doing it dynamically.
  6. **Introduction** This tutorial is to resolve an issue with the inventory not updating properly when you use the function _TakeInvSlot_ in the server. **Instructions** Replace your TakeInvSlot function in your server's source with what is provided below. If you notice bugs popping up after doing this, it is likely that there are custom edits done to the function indirectly or directly. This basically adds a new parameter that allows you to update inventory when an item is removed from the player's inventory. **Script** [Dropbox](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67149765/Eclipse%20Scripts/TakeInvSlot%20Function%20Fix.txt)
  7. > I was thinking about doing this a while back, but never got around to it. I think it'd be great if done properly! Please, no. Mirage is a pile of shit as is. RPG Maker destroys this engine hands down. > Because those aren't open source. Limitations are great for indie developers. RPG Maker can do anything I want it to. There's no reason to use a worse engine just cause it is open-source.
  8. > /facepalm I figured he was trolling, but it was a poor way to do it.
  9. > Should have read my post before replying; now you just look silly. I read it. My point still stands.
  10. Writing style is very unfriendly to read - sometimes using big words to sound intelligent actually is a sign of stupidity. General people will get lost when trying to read it. You also spend way too long describing things. I couldn't even finish reading it - wasn't very much information for the time it took to read.
  11. You can add me on Skype via Helladen. I'm in the middle of one job right now, but I can get to it later today.
  12. They both suck to be honest. World of Warcraft back before Cataclysm was my favorite MMO ever, but Blizzard has started sucking at making games recently.
  13. > The trouble with saying it'll be discussed is that when you're talking about quite a lot of money ($100+), you really don't want disputes arising. I'm sure you've got it planned, but where money is involved it's good to be clear. Right, that's why I am flexible. I try to meet people more on their end over my own - less disputes that way. ![:)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//smile.png) I edited it and put a message in bold letters, thanks for the feedback. ![;)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//wink.png)
  14. > Uhm.. How does selling open-source work? > > Also, you need to specify what "a reasonable amount" is. That would be discussed over Skype. The engine is just finished and the money you put into it is just my time needed to complete the job and patch the rest of the issues up. The $250 package is pretty much any edits you need and the $100 package is a limited amount. I would give free updates though since it would be a community project. So, both things have pros and cons.
  15. I updated OP with packages and other information.
  16. > How much do you charge on creating a bug less quest system? $10-15.
  17. > Hello, how much would you charge for a DirectX 8 upgrade on a Mirage Source 4 based project? $25-75 depending on how many calls you have in your DirectX. It may be a little lower than that though.
  18. > That's precisely what I was getting at. I read quite a bit of your post, and I didn't see any explicit definition of what you would be editing or writing new code for (although it's implied). I added Visual Basic 6 engines only. ![;)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//wink.png)
  19. > You're implying quite a bit with that sentence. The programming shop is only for Visual Basic 6 engines as you can see by my references. I'm not saying I'm the best programmer ever. I just can do anything engine related around Mirage. Also, programming is just something I picked up as an indie. I do not love it as much as some people do.
  20. **Introduction** I am looking for freelance work at the moment, and can do anything you need done to your engine (Visual Basic 6 engines only). I have provided several examples below of what I can do. **Examples** **![](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67149765/Arteix/EclipseWorlds.png)** A complete MMO engine I released recently - [Eclipse Worlds](http://www.eclipseorigins.com/community/index.php?/topic/134183-eclipse-worlds-112/#entry907728). **Cost** I believe in giving people a good deal for their first time purchasing a package from me, so payments will be very reasonable the first time around - contact me for details. You can also trade work with me such as art, music, or other means such as web development. I only accept good work though. Payment must be at-least 50% upfront. **Conclusion** I will be adding more packages soon. Anything I need to code from scratch will obviously cost more (if I can't market it as a package), so if you need something custom that is not in my current engine or engines around Eclipse I can do it for you still. **Contact** You can send me a personal message on Eclipse, add me on Skype via Helladen, or email me via [email protected]
  21. It would be better to pay for a system at a time. I agree with Wing.

Sign [this](http://www.cispaisback.org/) if you can. Once governments can control the web, there's no way to rally to defend our rights. It's a major step to take away rights of people in the United States and eventually other countries.
  23. > Just shut up now son. I haven't seen so much crap coming out of someones mouth since I pushed my friend in a cesspool that one time… You obviously have no concept of what Bud is trying (and succeeding, I might add) to achieve. Subjective statement. ![:)](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//smile.png)
  24. > -snip- That's fine. All I want to say is that learning curve obviously is much quicker than writing your own map editor that doesn't suck. I offer advice to save you time/map editor is open-source anyway, and you call it subjective. Subjective has got to be your most used word. Let's call everything subjective unless it comes out of your mouth then it is logical…
  25. You're better off using [tiled](http://www.mapeditor.org/) for your engine in my opinion. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but I was just offering advice. Don't take it like I'm superior or anything. I just have the philosophy of results over preference. ![:P](http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/community/public/style_emoticons//tongue.png)
