That's awful… fill up the middle a bit, and it would look somewhat better. I dislike your choice of colors for the cliffs, too.

An Munro, it was always a sidescroller, the game was connected at the _SIDES_ AND it is _SCROLLING_, Robin doesn't know what he's talking about… it's a Side-Scroller, just look at LaTale (pwned).

the GFX you are making now are side-scroller GFX, thank god for that

but then even for your game, i havent tried it yet, but all side-scrollers require the type of GFX you just posted here BUT ALSO jumping and moving left and right

even if you have one rule, you still need the other to be able to call it a side-scroller game
im sorry, but i cannot comfortably call it a side-scroller game until the GFX are changed to what they should be, or the game mechanics are changed to what they should be

there are the exceptions where there are games from an angled view, BUT those games allowed moving up and down as well as jumping
i have not played your game yet though so i have no idea if your game follows that exception yet

i say this as a Sonic and Mario fan

Everytime I hear this explaniation, It stabs me, before you know it… well I think you know where it goes from there... call the game what you want, either way it's VERY unique and epic (from what I have been told) so I think people should play it, then judge it.... that way I can take their honest word for it. ;)

So what if it isn't? If the game is as solid as you say it is then I don't see how you could spend so much time defending it's style.

It's not a sidescroller. Simple. Until you change the graphics to have a side view-point, it isn't one.

Stop taking it so personally. It's not an insult to your game, I'm simply informing you that you're advertising false information.

People here seem to take the title too literally. A sidescroller isn't called so because the map scrolls left and right. It's a sidescroller because the map scrolls (which you have) _and_ because the angle of the graphics are from the side. Hence the side, and the scoller of the title.

The clue is in the title. **Top-down**.

Classify your game however you want, but it's wrong. It's like my calling my next game an MMORPG simply because use has a server and a client.
