ZELDA - whats important for a zelda Game??? ( INCLUDING VIDEO OF MY GAME)

im working on a zelda game, its mainly based on"a link to past"

i dont want to give more information because in this topic im searching for more ideas…

the game contains the original hyrule map but will be more new custom territories added

.. so back this topic:  whats important for a zelda game, i think on the little details
and what comes first to mind when you think of a zelda game???

for example i loved the chicken xD

LTTP tiles
A solution to "everyone plays as link"
RUPEES!!!
Well done boss battles
Scripted weaponry(as alot of them were magic)
Breakable pots
BOMBS
Hookshot
Puzzles/switches/traps
DEDICATION AND EFFORT ABOVE ALL ELSE

The Holy Grail will not appear to those unworthy.

What's important? Finding someone with the resolve and dedication to program in these features in an aesthetically pleasing manner, that all Zelda fans would expect.

I've only met 2 people from any of the Mirage communities who could pull it off.

My suggestion: Make something original until you have the skill to make this.

well, i got the original musik and sound effekt and i did an original tilesheet ( grafik is 100% snes )

our currency is rupees =)

i also got some "puzzles" etc for example a dungeon which can only be doen with more than 3 peoplewith different occupations ( blacksmith can hit down these brown things with his hammer [only he can])

the last days i spent in mapping (the orig world) and my brother finished our post system today

anyone else got more?

edit: well robin, do u think i dont have the skill? did u checked my minimap system? never seen something like that here before…

No, I don't think you have the skill.

A minimap system is simply copy & pasting the BltTile and BltPlayer code, changing the backbuffer and using a smaller scale.

Sorry to break this to you, but a minimap system and mapping isn't gonna quite make a good Zelda fan game ;D

just ignore robin, but listen to what (s)he says. robin can be a real pain in the ass to things like these, but ussally is just trying to help in a pain in the ass way. (even if robin is awsome at it all, and is a lot better at this kind of stuff then most. Though i have never figured out if robin is male or female :P)

Here's how to deal with me:

Don't take my attitude seriously. Usually I'll just be in a bad mood because of something that's happened during the day, or just generally not happy. I'm usually right when I talk about these sorts of games though, I've been around for a while ;D

If I give advice, take it, just don't take _me_ too seriously.

The one where it turns side scrolling when you go into places but top down during overworld?
Yeah, that one was wicked hard.  I never beat that one.

Anywho, I like the minimap thing.  Although I'd consider adding some functionality to it, like on mini map markers for quests or things like that.

But the RMXP sprite, even as only a place holder at the moment, is a terrible sin to set foot in a Zelda map..

well, i dont really understand the thing with "scrollin" what do you mean??

and you are right, the current sprit is terrible, but i didnt work on the original because my brother and me would like to give more frames to the sprites ( there is nly 1 to every direction and 1 for attacking) but be have so much thinks to work on… on the moment we install the orig "link to the past" gui, which is quiet hard because of the transparent gaps between the boxes and popping up/down etc, but be nearly got it...

to the minimap: at the moment it shows also partymember and a quest functin would be great and i think tahts not that hard to make...

If you didnt know those enemies… you are in trouble... they have been in EVERY zelda game.

Also the way i worded that was from the original legend of zelda song...

"its the legend of zelda and its really rad, those creatures from Ganon are pretty bad... octorocks, tektikes, leevers too... but with your help our hero pulls through."

Do you just not understand anything? Sorry but if you don't know what any of us meant maybe you should spend more time working with the engine and possibley reviewing the English Language

anyway its easy to criticise someones language if english is your mother tongue  :bootyshake:

in addition the vocable of "oktorok" or "leever" cant be find in any dictionary

and last : dont quotate anyone and change the content of the quotation -.-* dumb kiddy
