balliztik1
Some weird things happen when I log in through Firefox. Most often, it results in not logging me in, but redirecting me to a random avatar. Recently, I was taken to the download page for a file called "azure.png". IDK what's up, but it seems that I'm being redirecting to seemingly random areas instead of logging in.
Ruins of Hell
I'm logging in fine, I'm on Firefox too.

Drummerpete
Probably not directly firefox related, this has never happened to me..Ballie & Fallen Empire; what else do you two have in common that might cause it?
Dark Crusade
@Pete!:> Ballie & Fallen Empire; what else do you two have in common that might cause it?They are both Eclipse members.*Puts on detector spectacle* I'm onto this case.
jna
I tried logging in 10 times and no luck. You might as well select to be logged in forever and no more problems. Also, do you have the latest version of firefox? 3.5.5?
balliztik1
[![](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/pics/9fd91081613f42bde4e5ae8c82f8a58c.png)](http://www.freemmorpgmaker.com/files/imagehost/#9fd91081613f42bde4e5ae8c82f8a58c.png)I do have the latest version, but this has happened several times in the past as well, so it's not a new issue. It's just on this one computer I use, as far as I can tell. It's got Vista home as an OS. I go to forums all the time with no issue. It only happens here, and it's only like 2 images that pop up. One is a banner for World of Azure, which I saw in someone's signature. I forget who it was. I'll point it out if I see it again. The second was a small image, like Fallen said. I don't remember the details of it. Maybe it was a userbar or something, though it had no writing on it. It has been a while since that popped up.This just happened as I logged in. It seems random, to me, as I only experience this every 10 or so logins. I'll keep a count, and note the programs, tabs, etc. open while doing so.@Freddy:> I tried logging in 10 times and no luck. You might as well select to be logged in forever and no more problems.> Also, do you have the latest version of firefox? 3.5.5?This isn't my computer. Firefox is set to delete history and cookies upon closing the browser, so staying logged in won't help me.I found the image. It's in Keebler Elf's siggy. http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?action=profile;u=9547The URL for it is kind of odd. http://www.touchofdeathforums.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=52239.0;attach=10883Â It's not hosted, but rather attached to a post somewhere. IDK if that would cause some kind of problem. Not sure.
Marsh
Good detective work!, if you log out on a topic with him in it. So you are viewing his topic as a guest then log back in you will get the error. This may be a SMF bug with attachment avatars. Thanks for the info i will go report it. balliztik1
I don't think it's a bug with avatars, but rather with post hosting. I wouldn't begin to know how to fix it, except for encouraging users not to do as he has. It's not meant to be a static filehost so much as a download. I'll send him a PM.If that other image ever comes up, I'll be sure to look for it, too, to make sure that gets fixed as well.
Marsh
Yea, though the avatar field should really not take those kind of links. I guess for now we can just remove the avatars of people who are doing this.
balliztik1
It's not his avatar. It's in a signature. But, if you can remove links to attachments, it would solve the problem.I hosted the image with Eclipse's file host and replaced the link for him. I PMed him. Marsh
Yea but then someone may be posting them as a download for people. May wreck that.
balliztik1
Yeah, it might. It's best not to mess with that.Besides, it's only 2 images that seem to do this, of all the files on Eclipse, so it's not like it's a bug that happens often. If it does, we can just find it and change it, then inform the person not to do it. Not many do it in the first place, so it's not a big issue. asdf2
yea true, which is good. It would suck to not know the cause and have people leaving the site because they get it.
Keebler Elf
Hmm i dident do anything weird with my sig. balliztik1
Your sig was linked from an attachment, thus triggering a download instead of just the image. I hosted it on Eclipse's file hosting for you and altered the link.
