Anime Sub-Board Poll

I have recently been wondering why Eclipse doesn't have an Anime-dedicated sub-board. After all we have a Cooking one, a Video Game one, and a 186 one. It seems odd to me why we don't have a board for something most of us enjoy watching. Anyway, vote in the poll above and we'll see if people have the same interest level in such a thing as I do.

I don't see why not; anime is a big subject amongst most boards, and I don't see why Eclipse couldn't have an Anime sub-board thrown into Chit-Chat; given it gets used.

Adulese, its not so much the anime, but the anime fans. I do appreciate it as an art form, but the moment you start talking about super special ninja moves in public areas, its just not right. should I mention cosplay as well?


plus, its a cartoon, and I dont watch cartoons any more, just dont meet my entertainmental needs, its sort of childish, except for those darned japanese sick manga crap that they make. you know what Im talking about.

@ Chief: Actually, if you look at a good deal of animes, they are meant for more mature viewers. With animation your allowed to get away with a lot more things, freeing up the ability to tell pretty amazing stories. Also, please don't be downplaying cosplayers. Of course some people go a bit far, but the normal anime fan that cosplays as his/her favorite character does so because it's fun to do. Usually though, you only do it at cons. Besides, there are some hot chicks that do cosplays which usually include almost nein clothing.

ANYWAY, let's not get into a flame war. Chief here is entitled to his opinions. Continue the voting.

Well, let me say this. If the board does go up, I am requesting that it be mostly used for suggestions and discussion of a bit less popular animes. While one topic on FMA or the like is fine, the board will be mostly used (I am hoping at least), to spread word about animes that should be given more attention.

I voted no. I find most anime to be bland and derivative, not worthy of the electricity used to run the monitor it's being played on. Furthermore, it has no place here. This is a game making forum, hence the game sub-boards. Marsh is a very skilled chef, hence the cooking board. I'm pretty sure that 186 only is around because Renzo talked Marsh into it.

There's no good reason for an anime board. If you have to talk about lesser-known animes (which in my view are likely unknown for a reason) a simple thread in Chit-chat should be fine.

So you want us to populate the already crowded chit-chat with anime topics? I don't think that would be too wise … Also, the community may be centered around the engine and gaming, but anime also inspires game developers. On any rate, the whole reason this poll is up is to see what the community thinks of having a place to populate with random anime talk.
