Which style do you think I should continue with? What can I fix?

Thanks,

I think your uncreative. That is my sword save for only a very few pixels. A tutorial is to teach you, not for you to use the examples as your own, but instead to get ideas or reference them.

Yeah…First I was mainly going for just following the tutorial, I'm gonna make a completely different one now. Only posted it to see if you could tell me if there were many errors, although I don't see any, that's from my view, not someone else's.

Ouch…I know the yellow is bad(I'm not good with palettes...If someone could point me to a site with some good ones, I'd appreciate it), but the rest is _from_ the tutorial =/

You know, before I thought it was pretty good for a start, since I'm a coder, not a graphic designer (I'm _just_ starting to do items), now not so much.

The thing that helped me out the most, when beginning to do pixel art, is reference images. Another key thing to think about is the light source. I ignored this a lot when I began to do pixel art. But trust me, its a big part. The palette is also another thing to pay attention too. When first starting out, I would just mess with luminosity, and as you become more comfortable with the colors, and figuring out how to adjust accordingly. Then play with the Hue, when determining a palette; which can add very unique effects to your images.

This is a good website to start studying, they have countless tutorials for all types of things.

I don't know if you have but i've yet to see a 2 dimensional object work in real life…

I've posted this in another thread, but a good way to get experience or learn how to use colour is to view old video game sprites:

While I agree, I was simply pointing out the redundancy in stating the impracticality of fantasy 2 dimensional image, using a smart ass reply.
